**Essex fast food boss jailed for raping teenager in storeroom**
>**A DISGRACED boss of a fast-food restaurant who raped a teenager during a Christmas party in a storeroom has been jailed for six years.**
>Sentencing 41-year-old Ambrish Dogra, Judge Nicola Talbot-Hadley said: “There was clearly a plan by you to get her on her own behind a locked door”.
>Dogra of Layer Road, Colchester, had denied raping the victim who was under 18 at the time of the offence in December 2020 but was found guilty by a jury at Ipswich Crown Court in March after a trial.
>In addition to being jailed he was banned from contacting the victim for ten years and ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register indefinitely.
>Joanne Eley, prosecuting, said Dogra had engineered a situation where he could be alone with the victim.
>The court heard Dogra had organised a Christmas party on December 8, 2020 and the girl went to the restaurant after school.
>The defendant had bought alcoholic drinks for the party which was held in the stock room and told the victim to get a drink and to “make it strong”.
>Another member of staff who was there then went to the toilet, leaving Dogra alone with the girl.
>When the member of staff came back, Dogra told her: “Give us a moment.”
>Dogra had then locked the door and asked the girl for a kiss and because she felt scared she let him. She added it went on for a long time and he didn’t stop.
>He then stepped back and exposed himself before raping her the court heard.
>The girl told police after the incident she was in such shock that she didn’t do anything and didn’t know what to say.
>In an impact statement read to the court she accused Dogra of taking advantage of her naivety and said he had made her feel stupid.
>”You made me feel worthless. It didn’t matter what I said in that room – you still took what you wanted,” she said.
>Alan Compton KC for Dogra, who has no previous convictions, accepted his client was significantly older than the victim and said Dogra had to accept he was disbelieved by the jury.
>He said the Christmas party was impromptu and the offence had happened “quickly and spontaneously”.
>Following the sentencing, investigating officer DC Nicola Clarson said: “Suffolk police are committed in obtaining justice for victims of serious sexual offences and bringing those that commit such heinous crimes to justice.
>”I wish to make special mention to the victim for her courage and for showing such bravery from her initial disclosure to providing her evidence in court.”
