Carli Norris, who has appeared in soaps EastEnders and Doctors, has claimed that Camilla “stormed out” of a function after Charles “kept going on” about her “sexy legs”

Camilla reportedly flounced out of a dinner bash after then-Prince Charles couldn’t shut up about an actress’ “very sexy legs,” a TV star has claimed.

King Charles, mingled with Carli Norris, known for her roles in telly hits EastEnders and Doctors, at the West End’s The Chiltern Hundreds. Post-show, Charles is said to have made quite the remark to Carli, telling her: “You’ve got very sexy legs.”

On a podcast dropped on Tuesday, Carli dished the dirt: “Prince Charles was walking around, introducing himself to everybody and he came up to me and he shook my hand and he went ‘You’ve got very sexy legs’. I went ‘oh thank you, your highness’.”

Then, during a swanky dinner with Charles, Camilla, and some cast members including the legendary Edward Fox, Camilla apparently had a right Royal strop. Carli, who graced our screens in Hollyoaks for nearly two years until late 2013, added: “Apparently, Prince Charles was going on and on about my legs so much that eventually Camilla slapped her knife and fork down and said ‘oh for goodness sake, Chas, will you stop going on about that gal’s legs? !’ She left the room and stormed out.”

Edward filled Carli in on the commotion the following day before they hit the stage again for The Chiltern Hundreds. Carli, hailing from Essex, lit up the play as June Farrell, a minted bombshell, rocking nothing but hot pants for her costume, reports the Mirror.

In a recent episode of the podcast Chicken Soap for the Soul, hosted by former Doctors actress Elisabeth Dermot Walsh, Carli Norris revealed that she was invited to Buckingham Palace as one of 100 “national treasures” for the Queen’s Jubilee. Initially thinking it was a “joke”, she confirmed the invitation and attended the event with her daughter in 2022.

Carli expressed her surprise at being considered a national treasure, saying: “When you think of national treasures, you think of Judi Dench, don’t you, and Elton John… I am not a national treasure,” She was informed that a committee had selected her to be part of this exclusive group.

In a light-hearted twist, she linked this honour to her meeting with Prince Charles in the West End in 2016, jokingly suggesting: “I can only imagine, Elisabeth Dermot Walsh, that Prince Charles has been following my career and he is the one that wanted me sitting near him for his mummy’s Jubilee, that’s what I can imagine.”

Later that year, Charles ascended to the throne following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Elisabeth, who played Zara Carmichael in Doctors from 2009 until its conclusion last year, humorously suggested that Carli should anticipate receiving a damehood following her encounter in the West End. The podcast episode also delved into Carli’s role as Belinda Peacock (the second youngest Slater sister) in EastEnders, a role she held in 2016.

Her performance earned her a nomination for Funniest Female at the Inside Soap Awards.
