  1. I remember saying that Napoleon should be considered a founder of Germany in jest. My argument was that in his conquest he did re-organize his German holdings and just overall exposed the HRE as being past its relevance. I guess in a similar way Trump might be the greatest EU politician. I’ve been reading about an EU army on passing a few times or EU silicon valley ideas. Each time there is a some pragmatic reason as to why its not really worth the effort in that era’s context, but now they are more relevant. Who would Optimus Prime be without Megatron?

    You do not want your land army reliant on a supply chain that includes transiting, checks notes, the Atlantic ocean.

  14. I know this artcile is about trump, but if the rare earths China is withholding from USA are important to Europe (they are), then China withholding them to gain economic leverage should be a major red flag. The entire world needs to come together on sourcing alternative materials.

  16. Being totally independent from America is a very good thing. The USA has become an unreliable, if not outright hostile partner. And keeping the money in Europe is a benefit as well.

  23. Europe should cut ties with US. I have been saying this for 15 years.
    Because US has used Europe to dump all refugees from all the war they have started. To protect the dollar and oil.
    We should build ships that can transport alot of people and ship all refugees to US.
    Let them take yhe cost.

  24. on one hand, i’m glad we’re finally starting to care about our own defence, without reliance on the U.S.

    on the other hand, i’m sad that it came to this due to the fact, that the current U.S. government is full of cunts. i like my yank bros and we should be united as collective west instead of infighting, because it’s very clear who’s the real enemy. and although it’s mainly his achievement, that he corrupted U.S. or Hungary, or Slovakia, it doesn’t help that we ourselves are stupid and let him infect our geo-political space so easily.

    i hope we’ll make some progress in this aspect as well and focus not only on war machines but also on the political warfare that our enemies are using against us.
