I guess we need a clampdown on internet anonymity, that’ll sort it out.
Maybe they should stop calling them “honor-based offences” and start using the correct wording: “pre-human evolution inspired offence”. There is no honor in rape, death threats and assault.
Too bad one can’t name the root ideologies causing this for fear of being canceled and called a racist bigot. These “honour” killings, rapings and similar incidents don’t have consequences in many cases either because the tolerant people would rather look away.
It’s very strange, we have around 1000 hate crimes against the LGBT community a year and people seemed convinced it’s a terrible country for LGBT members, a video the other day on /r/publicfreakouts of a pair of lesbians telling off some men singing a crass song was met with ‘they’re so brave, they could have been killed’ as if lesbians are just being killed where they stand in the UK. But honour-based abuse gets nothing, the brigade of people who maintain our societies are racist, anti-LGBT and oppressive seem to never even touch on this type of thing. When you consider that LGBT hatecrimes would be occuring across all demographics, 1000 is quite rare, when you consider that 1000+ honour abuse incidents are really just in a few communities… it’s far more prevalent. The question remains as to why so many progressives in our countries seem to have true zeal when it comes to social justice… except when the perpetrators are non-white. It’s pathetic.
By offences do you mean murder?
Why is it that “honor systems” like the one described in the article condone dishonorable acts such as these:

3+ people just to murder one woman is not exactly something I would call honorable.
What was the rate of these ‘honour-based’ offences in the 1940’s? What could’ve possibly happened in the 20th century for these offences to see such a rise?
The religion of peace strikes again. Imagine having a parental figure who wants to kill you, but before doing so, they’ll have your uncle(s) rape you before beating you to death; all because you loved someone they did not approve of.

Muslim women learn about freedom and want some for themselves. The Muslim men have to suppress this, even with brute force, otherwise their whole misogynistic patriarchal system will collapse.
