2. there is a need to go beyond the headlines here, a simple headline can itself be misleading. take the “five why” approach to this.

   would be nice if some of the mainstream media actually decided to look into this one in a bit more depth than a superficial soundbite

4. Robert Jenrick could have got this data from the Home Office when he was a minister. Why did he not do it then? Some cite the Home Office did not want to share this with anyone, why? Who is running things, elected politicians or unelected civil servants?

    Or if someone can explain what 20 times more likely means? does that mean that proportionally these two ethnicities are 20 times higher than what would be considered “on par”? Or that when charges are assigned, these two ethnicities are 20 times more likely to be guilty from the stats alone? I wonder why it only highlights afghans and eritreans, when in 2022 they didnt even make the top 10 countries of origin for immigrants? Are we selecting data to make things seem disproportionality good or disproportionality bad this time around?
