    I struggle to understand why we care what other celebrities think about it. Sure Magellan explored the world in a boat, but I am pretty sure Olivia Wilde has gone on one ‘just for fun’.

    I could understand being critical of the disgusting economic imbalance that means there are a million people living with food insecurity for every one ‘taking up space in space’, but why focus on one person holding a daisy for their kid?

  22. In Katy Perry’s defense she seems to be pretty stupid. She marries Russell Brand. She release an album with a cancelled producer while there is still a lot of active dislike on him. She gets offered the opportunity it’s to float out of her chair and go to “space”. Nearly every person on the planet would likely take that opportunity if they could. She’s just not smart enough to understand that it wasn’t an impressive feat that she would be cheered for.

She recently released a song called “Woman’s World” seemingly trying to champion women but used a producer for the song that is infamous for sexually assaulting women. Then, amidst the drama with Elon Musk dismantling the US Govt., she did a photo op in front of a cyber truck that Musk gifted to her. Then, while class tensions have been rising due to billionaire greed, she did this space trip on Jeff Bezo’s fucking rocket.

    Just very tone deaf.

  47. I’ve got no issue with her going to space. She’s got money and if she wanted that experience she could have it. The issue is that she shouldn’t have publicized it. It’s not a good time for entertainers to show off their frivolous spending while the majority of their fans are financially struggling. The whole thing made her look out of touch and after the last tour that undersold she should have thought twice. If you have the money go to fucking space but don’t make a show out of it and expect everyone else to be giving you a round of applause when you blew a three year salary for 11 minutes in space.
