Have a Finnish name and never questioned why as I was born in England – decided to take a test after I discovered my father who raised me was not my biological dad.

  1. Welcome to the Finnish tribe! 🇫🇮 Have you ever been to Finland? If you haven’t, you should, if you can. It’s beautiful especially in the summer or in the heart of winter (in Lapland).

  2. I wonder if your dad is on MyHeritage…have you met him that you can remember? I think I may have heard some true crime stories where people found suspects using these commercial DNA test results!

  3. Interesting! Where did you think your Finnish name came from?

  4. Good luck with your research. Welcome to Finland.

  5. I’ve met a lot of Finnish Nigerians in Helsinki. You should visit.

  6. You have unlocked new perks:

Sisu: You’re now biologically incapable of asking for help.

Salmiakki Response: Confused Arousal. You’re almost into it.

48,6% increase in smalltalk tolerance: You now instinctively dread phone calls and eye contact.

  7. Now you have a reason for the urge to drink in your underwear at home. Or why everything feels bothersome at all times.

  8. I know this is the internet and please don’t post a picture of yourself but I’m just super curious about this mix! Sounds fascinating. I wonder if the Finnish mix is visible, like if you have ever felt like you look different or unique.

Also looks like it’s time for you to go to Finland! There’s not really any place in the world quite like it.

  9. yay, welcome!! If you haven’t visited Finland I highly recommend

  10. Slavic friend, at least you have guidance, I literally discovered that I have decency from all over Europe, from the British Isles to the tip (Finland)

  11. I’m also a half Finnish person whose both names are very Finnish, I don’t live in Finland either

  12. If you were raised in England then you’re English and/or British.

You might have _DNA_ from Finland, and elsewhere, but culturally, socially, and linguistically you’re not Finnish.
