How?

  1. Illicit substances, alcohol intoxication, mental illness, disturbance in vision, sudden medical event such as heart attack or seizure. Or distraction by phone/surroundings/passengers in car.

Lots of reasons, not every RTC is caused by a twat in the road, though it’s 97% of the time.

  2. Was gonna suggest they were hit and spun. Then remembered this is a one way system for quite a big area. They must have been going the wrong way at a quere pelt and hit those lights. Jaysus! Traffic looks busy enough too how’d they not realise 🫠

  3. Hopefully no-one was injured. That is usually a busy pedestrian crossing point there.

  4. I was there, was hoping it would pop up here. Guy sped down the wrong way near cleaning out a guy with a buggy before driving straight onto incoming traffic then misjudging that turn and into the traffic light.
He then got out and looked to be taking his belongings from the back like he had arrived at his destination.

I assume most looking at this may not realise it’s one way (traffic direction should be going to the right not the left!) for about a 1/4 mile each direction down that road! Must have turned the wrong direction off upper queen’s street or brunswick street, freaked out at the buses coming at them and dodged into the barrier. Or they were on something as others have suggested!

  6. I don’t know how but Facebook crowds will blame immigration and possibly the Irish language.
