LANSING, Mich. (WILX) -Hundreds of Michiganders gathered at the state capitol Wednesday for what they call the “Communities Over Corporations” rally.
Attendees demanded actions on issues from tax fairness to reproductive freedom.
Organizers say the event is a direct response to what they call corporate overreach and dark money in politics, a system they say sidelines everyday people in favor of billionaires.
Speakers included local lawmakers, faith leaders and organizers. They urged lawmakers to prioritize people over profits.
