    Nearly half of the U.S. population is living with [dangerous levels of air pollution](https://www.newsweek.com/california-residents-told-shut-windows-avoid-driving-multiple-areas-2045778), according to a new report from the the American Lung Association.

    The organization’s 2025 “State of the Air” report reveals that 156 million Americans resided in areas that received poor grades for either ozone or particle pollution **—** 25 million more people than last year.

  3. Our current regulations aren’t enough. The strictest state on air pollution, California, has the cities with the worst pollution in the US: Bakersfield, Fresno, LA..

    Surrounding mountains + agriculture + heavy industry makes for truly awful air quality
