American goes to see a specialist doctor in China. One day of wait and $4 (without insurance) to get an appointment. Healthcare shouldn’t be predatory.

2. Some poor countries are like that too. There are some parts of Brazil where you can get a public doctor for same day or next for free.

7. 1) this is likely a private hospital that most locals cannot afford
   2) most public hospitals in China have long lines and level is care is subpar to that of America.

   It’s hard to find doctors who actually care about their patients. My uncle died in the hospital while waiting to be seen by a doctor back in the 90s. A lot could have changed since then, but China has never struck me as a country that cares about its people.

   Any hospital that serves everyone will have some obviously poor people in the waiting rooms?

   Is this hospital in a rich area?

   Do poor people go someplace else?

   Also, the place looked empty?

11. I had medical treatment done in China. Treatment was fine but wasn’t cheap at all.
