A number of memorial masses are being held across the country

Knock, Armagh, Dublin and Mullingar are among the locations across the county where memorial masses are being held for parishioners to gather to repose of the soul of Pope Francis.
Pope Francis’ funeral will be broadcast by RTÉ at 10am local time on Saturday 26 April and by Vatican Media by live stream on YouTube and its official.

Our Lady Basilica, Knock 7.30pm 23 April,St Patrick’s Cathedral, Armagh 7pm 24 April,St Mary’s Pro-Cathedral, Dublin 10.30am 25 April,Cathedral of Christ, Mullingar 7.30pm 29 April,Carlow Cathedral 10am 24 April, Church of the Immaculate Conception, Cavan 27 April 10.30am.

The chief celebrant of the memorial masses in St Patrick’s Cathedral Armagh will be Archbishop Eamon Martin, the primate of All Ireland.
The Archbishop has said, “As we give thanks for Pope Francis’ ministry, we also undertake the solemn duty of prayerfully commending his soul to God”.
Books of condolences are also available to sign in many churches and venues across the country.
These include:
the Apparition Chapel, Knock,St Patrick’s Cathedral, Armagh,St Mary’s Pro-Cathedral, Dublin,Galway Cathedral,Apostolic Nunciature, Dublin,St Mary’s Church, Limerick Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity, Waterford.
On Tuesday 22 April President Higgins and his wife Sabina signed the book of condolences at the Apostolic Nunciature.
A book of condolence for the Pope has also been shared by The Irish Catholic Bishops’ Conference on its website.
