Merkel,
the one that got addicted to Russian oil and gas,
the one that gave a green light to close the nuclear plants,
the one that caused refugee crisis by inviting everyone to Germany, and so on…
That is a legacy to be proud of.
Some serious history revisionism going on these days to act like declining ukraines nato membership **half a decade before** the ukrainian people started to fight back against their russian puppet government was a bad call.
Cue the Germans who can’t stand Germany being criticized.
I’m gonna cite the classic:
‘She missed an opportunity to shut up’
Has she also defended the decisions that has lead Germany to doubling Russian exports while they’re committing genocide?
The decision to become dependant on Russian fossil fuels in the name of the ‘environment’ will be the damning legacy of Merkel rather than this.
The Ukrainian war is Merkel’s legacy.
It’s her fault.
This is whatever. The gas, the pipeline, the military, the trade relations, everything else is stupid.
Merkel single handily stopped the Russian invasion in 2014 in relentless meetings with Putin. He probably would not have invaded Ukraine with her still in charge. Ukraine wasn’t ready to be accepted into Nato in 2008. a russian puppet government wa sin charge bach then and the corruption was even worse than it is today. It was the right decision. Offering them a Nato membership at the time put them on Russias Radar in the first place
what a piece of trash
Ukraines population in 2008 was primarily agaisnt joining Nato
Ukraine was corrupt as f*** in 2008
Ukraine didnt fullfill basic Nato membership requirements
Im so tired of this hate train without any logic behind it…just spreading hate…sometimes I wonder if this sub is run by Russia Today considering its doing wonders to create hate inside the EU for no logical reason these days. People here act like covid denier idiots, jsut screaming the newest conspiracy they just read somewhere and not doing any critical thinking….
This is actually not the worst thing that happened. The dependancy on russian gas and oil is what broke the camel’s back.

A russian puppet government that was asking to join nato while the large majority of the ukrainian people still saw nato as the enemy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukraine%E2%80%93NATO_relations#Popular_opinion_in_Ukraine
