Meghan Markle and Prince Harry swapped Montecito for New York City as the Suits alum made a keynote address at the TIME100 Summit on Wednesday, April 23. As Markle opened up about her “incredibly busy and ambitious” past year and a half bringing her As Ever lifestyle brand, her new Confessions of a Female Founder podcast, and her Netflix series With Love, Meghan to life, the star also opened up balancing all her projects with an equally important role: Being a mom. While addressing the crowd, Markle revealed that her son Prince Archie is about to pass an important milestone—and she’s determined not to miss it.

Proving that home was still at the front of her mind even all the way in New York, Markle opened up about balancing being a parent with the stressors of running numerous businesses at once, per The DailyMail. Mentioning the “scrutiny” she’s encountered over her decisions, the royal admitted she’s not “always going to get it right.” However, she revealed that her kids Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are a reminder to “create boundaries” and not take everything to heart.

“Something that is seemingly so big somehow becomes so microscopic in importance compared to what’s happening with my children,” she shared, calling being a “role model” to her kids her most important role.

Markle used her 5-year-old son’s loose tooth as an example of an important parenting moment she didn’t want to miss, telling the crowd that Prince Archie will have a visit for the tooth fairy “this week.” She added, “[It’s] about to happen, and I just hope I’m back home in time for it!”

The Duchess of Sussex also touched on her desire to raise a “very strong and confident young woman” with her 3-year-old daughter, but also highlighted the importance of being a good boy mom.  “But also having a son, I think that is just as paramount for young men to be raised with a confidence and sense of self that is going to empower the women around them, too,” she added.

Markle revealed that she tries to “just tune out” the criticism and haters in order to be the best role model for her kids possible.

Despite all the hats that she’s juggling, the actress-turned-entrepreneur said she’s the “happiest I’ve ever been” while attributing her mindset to her family. “To have a partner and a husband who is so supportive and have healthy kids who are so joyful…I never would have imagined at this point I would feel so happy and grateful, and I really do,” she said.
