Only ever seen them closing down or opening up mini ones in a pharmacy – poor UX. This one is brand spankers

So shiny, can't wait to post stuff from there.

  1. You mean you cant wait to wait in a queue of 18 people during your lunch break – and then having to leave before you get to the front because your hour is up

Edit – it’s also all old people and people with kids who seemingly could not find a better time to go to the post office

  2. We had one open up recently in my town too. I was also very surprised.

  3. Ours closes at 10 AM every day apart from Sat – where it stays open to the ‘very late’ hour of 11.59AM (to collect your parcels)

Post Office has gone to the dogs

  4. Ours does Evri as well now, dunno how relevant that is but it surprised me how sensible and useful it is

  5. I’ve noticed they’ve slowly started catching up to the 24 hour lockers, which are great.

  6. That’s not my town, so why does it look exactly like my town?

  7. Wild how like 90% of the storefront is still totally empty

  8. Cambuslang?

Edit. Just saw the 028 number I’m the to let sign. Ignore

  9. Post your parcel and grab a cheeky vape next door. Lovely jubbly

  10. Hope they include self service machines that are never switched on!

  11. Easier these days to post from home, especially with the horrendous queues

  12. I think Post Offices in general are back … they’ve developed a new purpose as parcel sending/holding centres … our one can hold Amazon, Evri etc etc parcels. Also gives out cash from debit card (useful since ATMs all became paid).

  13. Nah that’s corporate offices not open to the public and they deal with the ever increasing complaints without solving any of them.

  14. Now hopefully people can learn that Royal Mail and Post Office and stop asking me where their parcel is, because I don’t work for Royal Mail.

  15. We got a new one next to us too. Must be to do with the new ownership

  16. Still a few dedicated branches open. My local one in WH Smith has closed with the shop. Like Argos going into Sains, Post office went into WH Smith to streamline overheads.

  17. My local post office is more like a vape shop with a corner for postal services

  18. Wow, such big windows. I give it a month before every surface of them is blocked by stickers and signs that nobody will ever read (e.g. 5 different redundant “AUTOMATIC DOOR” or “PUSH” signs in different fonts, 3 Lebara mobile ads from different campaigns, 9000 Western Union logos…).

  19. Probably has something todo with smiths leaving the high street and them having a lot of lost offices

  20. With any luck we might see more of them with all the high street W H Smiths due to close. The service since the switch has been terrible here. Regularly closing at random due to staff shortages. Seemingly it’s unable to attract staff probably due to low wages & poor terms of employment. But hey, a huge company made a bit more profit!
