  1. That’s so bleak. Not a single shelf on those walls either.

  2. Because “Clapham” I guess. It’s actually ridiculous and it would make sense to just fit a single bed in there (not that it makes the price any better). That must be horrible in the warm months.

  3. The economy will soon not to be able to afford these rediculous places. We have hit the high of FIAT currency.

  4. Well at least you don’t have to worry about falling out of bed.

  5. It’s not £900 is it? It’s £900 + £145 bills. So, £1050 for something smaller than a shoebox.

  6. Fancy renting that room AND having to live in Clapham. Grim

  7. A long time ago I was looking at a room in Shepherds Bush, the contact warned me the bed was ‘in the middle of the room’. Confused, I signed up for a viewing to find a bed, the width of the room, pinned half way up the walls creating a little nook/reading area underneath. Cute but the thought of the bed falling on me or falling while in the bed while paying stupid rent put me off.

  8. Clapham is a London-themed amusement park for rich kids from the home counties when they want to say that they’ve “done” London while working as a trainee estate agent. A £900 a month room is for someone who wants to have the London experience but their father isn’t making enough to pay for them to have a room large enough to hold a wardrobe.

  9. I’m so glad I don’t live in London anymore. It’s wild how high rents are. I lived there for 9 years. But if nothing spectacularly changes about my financial situation I won’t be moving back there at any point. I miss the West End and the access to concerts and the vibrance of the city. But I don’t miss the ridiculous prices for closets disguised as flats…

  10. Me and my partner had a 2-room flat with a bathroom in Wealdstone for 800/mo for 2014-2019. Yes it was zone 5, but rent never went up. Im increasingly amazed about it the more of this shit i see

  11. No joke this might be where my sister lived for a couple of years. Lockdown was enough for her to go “fuck this”. It’s crazy people have to live like this.

  12. Whenever I see a bedroom like this I always wonder how you’re supposed to change the sheets.

  13. Literal wall to wall coverage. If someone wanted to look up that idiom, this picture should be there.

  14. How on earth did they get the bed in there? – Or did the flat build itself around it?

  15. Welcome to London. Guess what… this place will be quickly rented.

  16. Does it come with beer and beef jerky and dark chocolate and felatio and a fast car ?

  17. 8 years ago I viewed and asked for a room like this in a flat share in Highbury but that was because it was £270 a month

  18. I could probably cope with this during winter months if I had to, but I’d feel like I was being suffocated during summer

  19. If they put a single bed in there it would still be a small room but look much better
