ZAGREB (Croatia), April 24 (SeeNews) – Croatia’s economy is expected to expand by 3.1% this year, the World Bank said on Thursday, upgrading by 0.1 percentage point its forecast made in January.

Croatia’s real gross domestic product (GDP) is further seen growing by 3% in 2026, the World Bank said in the Spring 2025 edition of its Europe and Central Asia Economic Update report.

Croatia’s economy expanded by an estimated 3.8% last year, as per the report. The figure is slightly lower than the revised first estimate of 3.9% growth in 2024 announced by the Croatian statistical office earlier this week.

The global lender projects that the economic growth in it region of Central Europe, to which Croatia belongs, will increase by 2.7% in 2025 and 2026, lowering its earlier projections for both years by 0.3%. Last year, the estimated economic growth of this region accelerated to 2.4%, from 1.0% in 2023.
