LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), April 24 (SeeNews) – Slovenia’s economic sentiment indicator edged down by 0.4 percentage points (pp) in April, compared with the prior-year period, the country’s statistical office reported on Thursday.

The sentiment indicator was negatively influenced by the lower confidence among consumers by 0.8 pp and in retail trade by 0.7 pp, the statistical office said in a press release.

In contrast, the confidence indicators in manufacturing, services and construction grew by 0.4 pp, 0.4 pp and 0.3 pp, respectively.

Compared with March, the economic sentiment indicator fell by 0.8 pp in April, mostly due to lower confidence indicators in retail trade (by 1 pp) and among consumers (by 0.3 pp). The influence of the services and manufacturing confidence indicators was positive, by 0.5 pp and 0.1 pp respectively, while the construction confidence indicator had no influence on a monthly basis.
