Plenty of airlines offer loyalty programs with great discounts to their passengers. For instance, Southwest’s Rapid Rewards in March allowed clients to get up to 30,000 bonus points. Similarly, Air Canada is renowned for its Aeroplan points, which have recently been updated, hopefully making it easier for members to understand prices and charts.
KLM and Air France also offer loyalty programs to their passengers, known as Flying Blue. These airlines are often in the news for their great upgrades and services. For instance, Air France recently announced groundbreaking ultra-high-speed Wi-Fi for all its passengers in 2025.
This April, all Air France KLM Flying Blue members can take advantage of discounts on selected reward flights. This article discusses the Air France KLM Flying Blue Program.

What’s Air France KLM Flying Blue?
This loyalty program allows you to earn miles that you can use to book your flights instead of money
The Air France KLM Flying Blue is a loyalty program adopted by the flag carriers of France and the Netherlands: Air France and KLM. Like other airline loyalty programs, passengers must create an account to earn miles.
Miles are slowly added to your account whenever you purchase a flight or carry out all sorts of daily activities, such as grocery shopping and online shopping. You can then use your miles to purchase plane tickets, get a free upgrade on your flight to a faraway destination, and cover travel-related expenses, from car rentals to accommodations.
One of the most popular offers Flying Blue members can access is the Promo Rewards series. On the first weekday of each month, new Promo Reward tickets are released, giving passengers a 25% discount on flight redemptions on Air France and KLM flights.

Everything Else You Need To Know When Booking A Reward Flight
Extra charges, cancellations, and flight changes
Here are a few things to consider if you plan to use the Air France KLM Flying Blue Program. Remember that you can use your discount on both one-way and round-trip flights.
You can pay for your ticket using the miles you accumulated on your account. Unfortunately, however, all surcharges and taxes, including airport and security taxes and carrier surcharges, must be paid in euros or another eligible currency.
Tip: If you don’t have enough miles to purchase your dream ticket, remember that up to 25% of the miles can be paid with money.
If you are flying with kids between the ages of two and eleven, remember that they will be eligible for a 25% discount on reward tickets. If you’re flying with a baby under the age of two, you will have to contact customer service to book. The same can be said for minors traveling on their own.
Booking a reward ticket is incredibly easy. You must go to your Air France or KLM app or the airline’s official website, search for your flight, and click ‘Book with Miles.’ You can also do so with Customer Service, which will cost you an additional €30 fee.
If you decide to change your flight, a €70 fee applies, on top of the difference in prices, if your new flight is more expensive. Refunds are also available for a €70 fee. In this case, your miles will be re-credited to you. Lastly, remember that you cannot earn miles from your reward tickets.
