It’s not just reckless.
They were purposely not using official government communication. Because those are documented and could be used to hold them accountable.
These people are criminals.
This dude is so cooked. JFC.
His work computer is the only computer his third wife doesn’t have complete access to. That’s why he also has his AshleyMadison.com account on his Pentagon computer.
espionage
He can use Signal from his new Pentagon makeup room. How convenient.
Next bombshell: Hegseth computer found running IRC client with #letsdocrime #secrets
It’s genuinely alarming to see a senior figure like that disregarding these types of rules, you know, basic security protocols, and, while it’s awful, there’s at least a flicker of hope that the potential framework for relocation programs mentioned in the article could offer some order to these chaotic situations, and it truly makes you think, doesn’t it, is this really the kind of governance we deserve, the kind our nation needs?
Top secret for Hegseth is optional. He is grossly unqualified. Boot!!!
People dont even realize that the fact it says “auto delete in # days/weeks” is already a crime regardless if it’s confidential or not. This goes against the FOIA no matter what esp if it’s an official message.
Every federal employee will now have to take the cyber-security training again. Thanks. 🙏
There are multiple mandatory briefings stating not to use or download Signal or WhatsApp for classified communications. Trump’s circle chose to ignore the rules as a means to evade mandatory Federal Records Act, National Archive Records Administration, and Presidential Records Act laws and regulations.
When you elect criminals, you get unchecked criminal behavior.
Soon the war plans won’t have to be mistakenly sent, they will remotely acquired by the enemy.
Someone please explain air gaps to him.
>*The Washington Post* reports that the former Fox News host had Signal installed on his office computer at the Pentagon, a major security risk and further evidence that Hegseth used the messaging tool frequently for government business. According to the Post, the desktop app mirrored Hegseth’s phone and helped the secretary overcome the lack of cell phone service within the Pentagon.
>Cell phones and other personal electronic devices are not permitted within classified spaces, and installing Signal on his desktop computer allowed Hegseth to get around that prohibition. At least one of Hegseth’s top aides, his chief of staff Joe Kasper, also expressed interest in using Signal on Department of Defense computers, but it’s not clear how widespread the app is among Pentagon employees.
It just keeps growing and growing:

DEI hires are a million times more qualified than loyalty hires.
Mike Flynn is standing by. I wish I didn’t think this was a possibility.
He probably used it in the oval office, some random SCIF, area 51A…
Yea but what about her e-mails? /S
Fire him.
This has become a game of “how bad do you gotta fuck up national security to get fired.”
Or, you know, arrested like virtually anyone else would in these circumstances.
We all need to be calling our reps on n a daily basis until he resigns or is forced out. Every day.
Ok, question: Do we know if this tent peg has brought his phone into a SCIF? If he’s using Signal in the Pentagon, he has his phone.
Enquiring minds want to know
This is why Five Eyes is going to become 4 Eyes soon. USA is an untrustworthy intelligence partner.
But.
Her.
Emails.
Im gonna call it now, he was sexting on the job.
Hegseth was copying and pasting information from a secure Pentagon server into his insecure Signal chats.
The only reason he still has a job is because he is part of the most corrupt and incompetent administration ever.
The American people are going to come to regret handing power to this band of crooks.
Bonhoeffer understood all of this over eighty years ago.
>Stupidity is a more dangerous enemy of the good than malice. One may protest against evil; it can be exposed and, if need be, prevented by use of force. Evil always carries within itself the germ of its own subversion in that it leaves behind in human beings at least a sense of unease.
>Against stupidity we are defenseless.
>Neither protests nor the use of force accomplish anything here; reasons fall on deaf ears; facts that contradict one’s prejudgment simply need not be believed — in such moments the stupid person even becomes critical — and when facts are irrefutable, they are just pushed aside as inconsequential, as incidental. In all this the stupid person, in contrast to the malicious one, is utterly self-satisfied and, being easily irritated, becomes dangerous by going on the attack.
>For that reason, greater caution is called for than with a malicious one. Never again will we try to persuade the stupid person with reasons, for it is senseless and dangerous.
