Americans seem to be focused on Facism currently. Look at Germany go, trying to not get America to make the same mistake they did.
Money can be exchanged for goods and services.
They should send a Dutch instead.

Germany: Capitalism needs rules.
USA: You lost me at “rules.”
Germany: Figures
Kukies, came into office through the finest nepotism and is one of the revolving Goldmann Sachs guys.
This post is absolutely ironic after just reading another post that our German economy is set to grow 0,0%.
Maybe he should try to work on that instead.
As if they understand…
The german arrogance is getting pretty ridiculous. FFS, what have guys been doing in the past 30 years?! In case you haven’t noticed, the EU got so weak that despite having a full-scale WAR in Europe, a few hundred km-s away from the EU’s borders, the EU is NOT INVOLVED in the peace negotiations, because it got so insignificant in international politics, that they don’t have the power to force the russians and the americans to involve them.
Do you even understand the significance and meaning of this?! murica just declared that they will just seize the largest nuclear power plant of the continent (Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant), and there is absolutely nothing the EU can do against it.
And yet, the germans just keep pretending that they are the center of the universe, they know and do everything better ofc, and morally superior to everyone. GTF outta here.
Germany invented rhine capitalism, the good kind.
American economics are further right than capitalism. Everyone, even CHINA is capitalist.
this is icing on the cake – Jorg headed the Rhineland-Palatinate branch of the Young Socialists
Alright, folks, let me tell you something. There’s this guy, a finance minister, who’s breaking it down for the Americans. He’s explaining how capitalism works, right in Washington, the lion’s den. And he’s doing it in just 15 minutes, can you believe it?
Now, this guy is talking about tariffs. You know, those extra fees countries put on imported goods? He’s saying that this love for tariffs is just… weird. It’s like trying to turn back the clock on globalization with some crazy economic ideas.
He’s not the only one talking about it, though. There’s this other guy, the American finance minister, who’s saying that organizations like the IMF and the World Bank aren’t doing their jobs. They’re too focused on things like climate change and gender equality, he says.
And then there’s Japan. They’ve got this new central bank chief who’s trying to defend the yen against the US. It’s a tough job, but someone’s got to do it.
The IMF, by the way, is not happy. They’ve cut their global growth forecast. The economy is as weak as it was during the pandemic and the financial crisis. Germany is stagnating.
So, there you have it. Tariffs, globalization, and a whole lot of economic drama. It’s like a reality show, but with more numbers and less glamour .
Did someone ask the German finance minister why there are tariffs on Chinese cars then?
I thought Malcolm Forbes wrote the book on Capitalism?
More accurately, he explains it to the Trump administration, not ‘to the Americans’. Most of us know quite well how it works, it’s *specifically* the current administration that doesn’t.
You can hear the German “this is not working properly” disappointment gasp from the article’s title.
If there’s one thing I think nobody can lecture America on, it’s that we aren’t doing capitalism right. We are the most capitalist country in the world, for better and for (mostly) worse. If you don’t like it, maybe consider whether being a fully capitalist system is in your countries best interest.
We aren’t doing capitalism wrong. The hole we are digging ourselves into is the most logical endpoint of this system.

Listen to the man – he is actually smart (although he will be out of a job in a few weeks when his successors come in).
interesting take for the finance minister of a country with a semi-collapsing economy
