Are they still valid?

  1. No. Trade it into a bank though, they’ll deposit the money into your account

  2. Whenever a Bank Note issued by the Bank of England gets withdrawn there’s a period announced before which you can still spend it in shops, then a period at which any high street bank will take it, finally there’s a cut-off date after which high street banks will not accept them anymore.

After this date it is still redeemable from the Bank of England in London. If you look on their website you will see details on where and how to redeem old notes.

  3. Is that basically uncreased? I’d personally see if it’s worth more than £5 to a collector before trading it in at the bank

  4. I’d keep it. In 10-20 years that’ll be quite rare. Whilst it won’t be worth much beyond face value, it’ll probably be something neat to show people. ”Back in my day our money was paper”
