The Met Office has forecasted that Gwent will experience temperatures higher than Spain next week.
The week is expected to start off mostly fine with sunny spells, especially in the south, after the early morning mist and fog clear.
In the north, more cloud is expected, which may take longer to clear.
There is a small chance that the fine and very warm weather could spread across the country in the following days.
However, it is more likely that cloud and rain in the northwest will move southeast, bringing more changeable and cooler conditions mid-week.
After this, there is an equal chance of either a return to mainly fine and dry conditions or a continuation of more changeable weather with a mix of rain and dry spells.
The detailed forecast for the week is as follows:
Monday will start at 9C at 1am, rising to 20C by 4pm, before dropping to 13C by 10pm.
Tuesday will see temperatures starting at 12C at 1am, peaking at 21C by 4pm, and then falling to 14C by 10pm.
Wednesday will have a similar pattern, with temperatures starting at 12C at 1am, reaching 20C by 4pm, and then dropping to 14C by 10pm.
Thursday will see temperatures starting at 12C at 1am, peaking at 19C by 4pm, and then falling to 14C by 10pm.
Friday will start at 10C at 1am, rising to 21C by 4pm, before dropping to 15C by 10pm.
