Meet the residents of Mont-Saint-Michel, France’s medieval island • FRANCE 24 English
Mont-Saint-Michel, in the French region of Normandy, is more than just a UNESCO World Heritage site. It’s also a tiny village, home to just 30 residents. But the tidal island welcomes around 3 million visitors a year. Our colleagues at France 2 take us behind the scenes to meet some of the people who call this iconic landmark home. They bring us this report, with FRANCE 24’s Lauren Bain.

Orgy as soon as that tide comes in
Wow I didn’t know there are actual residents in Rohan. Hehe! I’d love to have a house there!
they filmed scenes from daryl dixen walking dead series here
I visited in 1984. It is stunning! Apparently where the omelet was invented!
Residents of Minas Tirith
I was there in 2022. It’s a magical place. Thank you for this piece featuring the residents.
Destiny or a prison. Take your pick.
It’s not in France, it is located in Bretagne, a small independent country next to France. Breizh ma bro!
The monastery stands on a mountain that was formed by slow volcanic eruption and later this small volcano turned extinct and formed a robust granite foundation. Very unique!
Sounds like hell…3 million visitors
Seems a good place to plant rice
Inbreeding?
French propaganda at it's finest. Nothing looks good or privileged about this irrelevant and ugly island
its a dream to live there. Omg, i would give up everyting i have.
I first visited Mont St Michel, as a child, in the early 80’s. It was a lot quieter back then. My souvenir was a bangle with enamel which the seller wrote my name on. I also remember watching a horse rider cantering along the beach below and as a horse mad child, was extremely envious! It was a wonderful experience.
I really want to know the logistics behind The Walking Dead shooting here for an entire season. How in the world did they get permission! And how did the residents cope with film crews there?
pov the place i will go if the zombie apocalypses started:
That would be cool to live there
0:15 "one of the most beautiful bays in the world"
This can't be serious lmao
This is really cool – I'll have to visit. Amazing.
Such a very fortunate few……!!!
30 people in a remote location who never travel. Makes me wonder about the gene pool. How do they find wives
I know this place from Assassins creed brotherhood online
I visited Mt St Michel last february and it was breathtaking. Such an awesome experience. It has a kind of magical atmosphere. Such a different and outstanding place! I loved the experience ❤

it was a stroke of genius having the Walking Dead filmed here.
Is it where Beauty and Beast lived
Mont-Saint-Michel ☝️😎 zoo zoo za za zi zi
I was very lucky to spend a night at Mt. Saint Michel and it was the best experience of my life. So beautiful and magical, with so much history on it. I really recommend to make a little stop here when you visit France! If you can stay a night or 2 it will be worth it!❤
That island is way too white it needs some strength of diversity
🤣🤣
i was waiting for everyone open their windows and sing “ GOOD MORNING GOOD MORNING “ like a disney song 😂
