They don’t make them like this anymore, still works but inherited a newer, more efficient, tumble drier so it’s off to the tip

Fix it!
That’s a long time! How many parts did you have to replace? Is it a “triggers broom”?
Quality. You’d be lucky to get 40 days out of a modern Hotpoint
Before the 90s: I bought this 40 years ago and it’s just started making a funny noise. I’ll take it in and get it fixed.
After the 90s : I bought this 6 months ago and it’s stopped working. I’ll chuck it in the bin and buy a new one.
Sorry for your loss
Aww…bless it. It’s part of the family…give it a proper send off!
My gran had the same tumble dryer until a couple of years ago when she died. It outlasted her!!!
Respect.
Nice jukebox
You could put it on freecycle. Someone might be in need of a working dryer.
Now I wonder if its replacement is made in Britain?
You kept the sticker on it too! It needs to live!
You might regret this decision in 3-5 years time when your new unit fails.
40 years, we’re you never tempted to take the sticker off the front?
Keeping the sticker on an all!
Mine went after 7 currently waiting for my new one to get delivered in a few days. I took the back off and had a look and the dampers are fucked on it so the belt comes off constantly.
My much more modern tumble drier doesn’t have a heat display or a buzzer, let alone the option to turn it on or off.
This trooper was smart before appliances were required to be smart.
Pop it on your local free items Facebook page, someone will have that and get another 40 years out of it
And you kept the sticker on the whole time

r.i.p hotpoint washing machine 1985-2025
Damn, they really don’t make them like they used to.
Just yesterday I took delivery of my new washing machine and had the old one carted off. I thought it had done _extremely_ well to last 14 years!
What’s a washing machine doing on the street?
So hard to get a BEAB approved model these days so can understand why you are upset.
F
Guys look, it had a button to turn off the music.
Nice it had an Apple Music sync button… ahead of its time.
Is the warranty not still valid?
I used to deliver those 35 years ago. Don’t remember this particular item though, mainly because I don’t remember anything now
