  1. > “I mean what a gift it’s been to do it,” he said. “There’s a part of me, obviously, that is like ‘No, I’m more than just that.’ But I don’t know, I’m kind of okay with that.”

    > “If that’s all, I mean — what an insane ride that has been,” continued Keery. “But I guess now it puts me in this place of privilege to be able to just like chase the things I’m really interested in doing.”

  2. I feel like this attitude will take you far in your career.

  3. i know he’s focusing on his music career as Djo but i really want to see Joe Keery act and get more roles like he’ll be perfect for a romcom since he’s so likeable.

  4. I met him when he was in Post Animal backstage at a gig. Nice dude, seems pretty grounded.

  5. His performance in the fifth season of “Fargo” shows he’s capable of amazing work going forward.

  6. My biggest question is why doesn’t he just style his hair like Steve!?

  7. I know him also as different Steve. Stephen Malkmus from Pavement.

  8. As he (and most people who are lucky to be known for a role) should! This stuff opens doors and changes your life, it leaves such a bad taste in my mouth when people are ungrateful for what jump started their career, lifestyle, and other opportunities.

Good one Keery for having a steady head on his shoulders. This will take him far in general life, not just the industry.

  9. Honestly he was really good in Fargo. I wasn’t seeing him then as his Stabber Things character.

  10. I’ve not watched “Stranger Things” so the one thing I do remember him from is “Free Guy”. Good performance. I look forward to seeing more from him.

  11. His band seems pretty popular as well, having just played Coachella.

  12. The best white boy hair flow since Garrett Hedlund in *Four Brothers*

  13. (a) 99% of people arent known for anything and (b) 99% of actors are only remembered for one of their roles

  14. Dude is a renaissance man. Djo anyone? love his music.

  15. He’s great as a romantic lead in Free Guy, I’d definitely watch him in other things

  16. Nothing wrong with being remembered for a character that has a pretty solid redemption arc.

  17. I feel like there is an inevitable future where he’s in a buddy comedy with Ben Schwartz, they feel like they have a lot of the same energy

  18. In my opinion his music career as Djo has far outshined his role in Stranger Things. But can’t wait to see him in more movies and shows as well!

  19. His music def got cultural power too he’s doing fine

  20. He could also be Jean ralphio’s son in the parks and rec reunion.

  21. To be fair. He’s also known as Djo. Just not quite to the popularity as stranger things. End of beginning is a pretty good song.

  22. Tom Hanks got his first big break wearing drag on Bosom Buddies. He now has two Oscars and is “America’s Dad.”

  23. Makes me hope that he finds other roles, there are probally at least a million wannabe actors who would do something serious for a role like that, always seems to be a bit ungrateful when actors complain about it

  24. Steve, you’re currently among the top 300 most-listened to artists on Spotify, people know you as much more than stranger things guy. Lol

  25. I think he’s done a great job building his music career and I’d love to see him in some more roles, he’s a great actor!

He’s already broken away from just being Steve from stranger things imo.

  26. Better than being know as “crack head used to be a male lead in hit TV show.”

  27. That’s not going to happen because he was in Fargo as well.
