Im sorry but why protest the government on racism? The government is very pro active in tackling racism.

An immigrant ate my hamster.
What are the details of the demonstration that it’s countering?
I’m not on Facebook so I’m out of the loop and can’t find anything through Google
I want to go to protest the anti immigrat lot, even more so if there are some fascists at it, I just don’t want to go to a demo where its a bunch of politicians and trade union leaders making self agrandising speeches
>UAR calls for the abolition of the Direct Provision System, opposes the system of detaining and isolating asylum seekers and supports the call for amnesty for asylum seekers
>UAR is for the normalisation of all undocumented migrant workers in Ireland and opposes all deportations
>UAR calls for opening the borders to refugees and rejects ‘Fortress Europe’ policies
>UAR supports the call for recognition of Traveller ethnicity
The Gubberment! I knew it was them! Even when it was the bears I knew it was them!
You can have an opinion on both though, you can criticise the cultural and community impact of immigrants while also criticising the governments actions (or rather intententional inaction) on the issue.
This group is just as stupid as the racists they’re protesting.
I wonder how many people will actually go this to this protest march without reading the small print of who and what they are marching for?
it’s absolute insanity, totally open borders? Full documentation of illegals already here?
And the worst thing is I suspect a lot of the same idiots will be out at a different march next week regarding the housing crisis?
“This isn’t immigrants’ fault it’s the government’s”
*people protest the government’s stance on immigration*
“Stop hating on immigrants it’s not their fault, punch up not down”
Far too many people are coming into the country. In particular, far too many people are coming in to fill non-essential jobs, low paying jobs and no jobs at all.
This is not good for Irish people as it puts downward pressure on salaries and upward pressure on resources and tax. The poorest among us feel the crunch earlier and harder than the middle and upper classes.
Ireland has the highest levels of immigrants of any EU country excluding Luxembourg, Cyprus and Malta. Obviously this has knock on effects. A generation of young Irish people are emigrating or living at home or spending all their money on rent. The government has continuously mismanaged this by various housing schemes and allowing mass immigration to occur.
Irish people are getting married later, buying a house later, finding it harder to get school spaces and having smaller families. Much of this is due to the housing situation which is very much fuelled by the fact we’ve imported 25% of the population in a relatively short space of time.
It would be very strange and deeply concerning if nobody raised any issues about this…
Blame to government not the immigrants is what I’ve believed from the start and was happy to see this post but I then realised it’s a counter protest? So you are blaming the government but trying to stop other people protesting against said government what’s the story?

NGO day out tomorrow so
Seems a bit odd to call yourself United Against Racism but then exclude half the country who voted for the Government. If you want everyone to unite against racists, shouldn’t you include FF/FG supporters?
Do you know in Scotland they had actual organisations set up to stop immigrants. They even had a football team that wouldn’t sign or let any specific types of immigrant people play.
In London they used to have signs up stating no blacks, no dogs…..
In Liverpool they banned a certain nationality of immigrants from working in the docks.
In America, specifically New York they would make it almost impossible to employ or house immigrants.
The crazy thing was, all these immigrants were IRISH Catholics.
Treated like fucking shite the world over.
Fuck those that forget, our people were tarred with the exact same brush.
Pure nonsense, bunch of wasters having to protest about something, starting to sound like monty python now peoples front of Judiah 🤣
I’d consider myself an anti fascist and have been involved in housing and anti racism campaigns. From what I’ve picked up over the last week a lot of people considered on the left/progressive disagree with the counter protests.
From what I’m seeing online and in legit far right spaces like telegram and twitter, the counter protest and left leaning talking heads ”speaking out” are doing more to amplify the march than anything else.
Regardless if there is trouble tomorrow or not the whole thing has whipped up a load of division and scare mongering on all sides.
The fight needs to be up and down, not left and right and people on all sides need to cop the fuck on
A foreign anti-democratic organsation promoting open borders and social discord. These are the very people that *will* cause a rise in the far right.
I would put money on any far-right groups that do rise to oppose this will also be all very pro-Israel just as all far-right groups all over the western world are.
its pretty clear that both sides of this argument are being financed by the same people with the goal of elevating the actual noise as loud as possible. it doesnt matter if either side is represented by a tiny % of people, if the noise is loud and circulated widely via social media it becomes huge.

the end goal is this:

‘a bewildering state of constant information where no-one knows what is right or wrong and people just say, oh dear’.
