  6. Isn’t that exactly what the democrats asked for 1 week ago? They asked to go to El Salvador, visit Garcia in the prison, and they requested that a reporter go with them. So does that mean the oversight committee approved it?

  27. El Salvador is a very safe destination. They might actually have a very pleasant holiday there unless they can convince president Nayib Bukele to open the prison doors and let everyone out, then they won't enjoy anymore.

  34. There are people that understand principles and people who don't. There are people who think going to church makes you a moral person and putting a flag in your yard makes you a patriot. We have rules and laws. They protect us all and we don't just enforce them on people who don't look like us. That's a principle.

    Principles have an external consistency. There are two versions of the golden rule – one has external consistency and one has internal consistency. "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you" has external consistency because if followed you will treat everyone well and expect it in return. "He who has the gold makes the rules" has internal consistency because it means if you have power you can do what you want at the expense of others. It is an unprincipled approach and one that is being leveraged heavily by our current rulers. Due process protects us all. A healthy fear of too much power in the government protects us all. Don't be a fanboy for politicians and don't cheer as these principles and protections are violated for anyone because you could be next.
