Yeah this kind of happens with a lot of laws though. Especially anything that could be considered minor, like possession of a spliff or something. The police don’t always have to enforce.
It is called “officer discretion” … been around for as long as law enforcement itself, however, it requires training, education, and critical thinking skills … so, yeah.
