  1. Interesting list of demands

    “1 – Petrol Capped @ €1.10 Per Litre.

    “2 – Diesel Capped @ €1.20 Per Litre.

    “3 – Green Diesel Capped @ 65c Per Litre.

“4- Home Heating Capped @ 65c Per Litre.

“5 – Carbon Tax To Be Scrapped.

“6 – Eamon Ryan To Step Down With Immediate Effect.”

  2. Is “Irish Truckers and Haulage Association” an actual association of drivers like the Irish Road Haulage Association (ya know, the actual industry body), or is it just a facebook group?

I’ve tried googling it, all I can find are articles about fuel protests.

Anyway, this article says that they’ll have no spokesperson “as we want The Nation to be addressed on this matter.”, whatever the fuck that’s supposed to mean. I wonder does it really just mean it’s another Russian-organised protest and they’ve nobody on the ground in Ireland to act as spokesperson?

  3. I am happy that again the haulage industry have shown that they agree that blocking the roads is a valid form of protest.

And of course they won’t mind when this tactic is used by environmental protestors for example in the future.

  4. Did the maths last night, if the government charged their 23% on the price of the petrol/diesel and then added excise the price at the pump would be 178 in stead of 190.

I don’t know the ins and outs of it but that seems like a pretty simple solution to solving the problem if they wanted.

    Just saying like

  5. Bare in mind you always ask for more then you want to open negotiations. it gives you things to lose through the process. never show your hand at the start

  6. I didn’t care for these protests before but now I have 3 checkups for my newborn baby in holles street in April if they make that difficult in anyway fuck them.

  7. Hey Dublin, I’ve a flight from Dublin airport to catch at the end of May. So if this kinda stuff and the whole stupid queues at the airport could ya know get sorted that’d be great.

  8. >The Truckers announced the latest protest date on Facebook

Ooh, they sound super serious and well organised.

Pfft, fuck off and grow up.

  9. The timing is certainly interesting concerning diplomatic moves made by Ireland towards a certain Eastern European agitator in the last few weeks.

  10. Fill your boots lads. I’ll be WFH that they n my employer can fuck off if they say otherwise. I’ll be okay with protests now. My hear used to sink commuting home n finding a protest on. Even if I supported the cause it would be a melt
