Why? Are fuel prices not high for everyone? What does this achieve?
Some of these are a bit much are they?
Interesting list of demands
“1 – Petrol Capped @ €1.10 Per Litre.
“2 – Diesel Capped @ €1.20 Per Litre.
“3 – Green Diesel Capped @ 65c Per Litre.
“4- Home Heating Capped @ 65c Per Litre.
“5 – Carbon Tax To Be Scrapped.
“6 – Eamon Ryan To Step Down With Immediate Effect.”
I imagine they’ll have very little public support.
Is “Irish Truckers and Haulage Association” an actual association of drivers like the Irish Road Haulage Association (ya know, the actual industry body), or is it just a facebook group?
I’ve tried googling it, all I can find are articles about fuel protests.
Anyway, this article says that they’ll have no spokesperson “as we want The Nation to be addressed on this matter.”, whatever the fuck that’s supposed to mean. I wonder does it really just mean it’s another Russian-organised protest and they’ve nobody on the ground in Ireland to act as spokesperson?
Good way to burn a bit of expensive fuel without the usual return.
I am happy that again the haulage industry have shown that they agree that blocking the roads is a valid form of protest.
And of course they won’t mind when this tactic is used by environmental protestors for example in the future.
I wonder will there be honking like in Canada
Time for all the lads with the same haircut and same clothes to ask why anyone would ever protest
Did the maths last night, if the government charged their 23% on the price of the petrol/diesel and then added excise the price at the pump would be 178 in stead of 190.
I don’t know the ins and outs of it but that seems like a pretty simple solution to solving the problem if they wanted.
Just saying like
Bare in mind you always ask for more then you want to open negotiations. it gives you things to lose through the process. never show your hand at the start
I didn’t care for these protests before but now I have 3 checkups for my newborn baby in holles street in April if they make that difficult in anyway fuck them.
Hey Dublin, I’ve a flight from Dublin airport to catch at the end of May. So if this kinda stuff and the whole stupid queues at the airport could ya know get sorted that’d be great.
Grid lock the Dail, dont piss everyone else off
Well, they’ll probably get towed anyway. Slash their tires.
>The Truckers announced the latest protest date on Facebook
Ooh, they sound super serious and well organised.
Pfft, fuck off and grow up.
The timing is certainly interesting concerning diplomatic moves made by Ireland towards a certain Eastern European agitator in the last few weeks.
Fill your boots lads. I’ll be WFH that they n my employer can fuck off if they say otherwise. I’ll be okay with protests now. My hear used to sink commuting home n finding a protest on. Even if I supported the cause it would be a melt
They should all be arrested, what right do they have to block a public road that I pay for through taxes?
They should just increase the prices they charge their customers for deliveries. Pass the increased price down the distribution chain.

Get fucked
So, they want to break democracy by ruining society. And why should I feel sorry for them again?
“Complete lockdown”… so like normal then
must be nice to be able to fuck over an entire city with no consequences
