2. Trump isnt for hedge fund or any super wealthy investors..he is the peoples President., boo hoo if you lost a hundred k off your 5million retirement fund..you are the minority as most people are getting poorer by the year with the current wealth transfer.

3. When we buy foreign products, those dollars are going to that country instead of staying here in America. Lets say you want to buy a wind proof lighter (think zippo) You can buy an American made Zippo for $30+-. Or you can buy an alternative from China for $20. When you buy the imported one China gets those dollars. You see the importer buys them for $10 and sells them for $20. So $10 of those $20 goes to China to support Chinese jobs. The Tarrif now makes the American worker more competitive. You can buy an American made Zippo for the same price or maybe even less. All those dollars stay here in America and support American Jobs. This isn’t rocket science. China isn’t a third world country they are a super power and that means they don’t get the Goodwill of American policy supporting their economy and jobs at the expense of the American worker. We need fair and balanced trade.

14. Yeah but the tariffs trump outlined are not like for like, hes using other countries regulatory standards as tariffs as well, which they arent. Countries have a right to regulate and set standards on what they let into their country i.e. chlorinated chicken, GM beef to name a few.

Imagine you’re in a market…$70 for a pair of pants…you offer the seller $10…he counters at $60…you offer $20…and so on…even if you don’t meet in the middle, the original price will still go down to $60 or $50 (which is better than the original price). It’s comparable to tariffs – there’s no reason why we’re just paying what they say and not trying to get a lower tariff. Silly.

40. The United States government operated on Terrace up till World War II when they enacted income tax that was a very long time to run without any income tax. The country operated and function quite well on terrace.

But the stupidity of the Tariffs is – people here are basically getting the benefit of exploited workers with amazing tech and cheap products. So there is no way, it can become better, it will become WORSE if not only the full cost for JUNK we get is paid, but surcharges on top of it.

46. Australia never charged the US any tariffs, it was free trade until Trump slapped on 10%. Markets went wild, AU1$Bn lost overnight and now traders and suppliers are looking elsewhere for partners who are more stable.

47. Trump did not understand what a reciprocal tariff is, nor did he have a strategic vision. He came up with an economic bull shit number equal to the trade imbalance divided by US exports as a tariff rate. The world and the markets both said what the fuck is this idiot doing.
