  1. I think I’d prefer no one at my funeral than a load of people who didn’t even know me.

  2. >An appeal has been launched after a Galway man died without any living next of kin.
Matt Laffey of Reddington Road, Shantalla, Galway City, passed away on March 13.

    >Conneely Funeral Directors confirmed to the Irish Independent nobody came forward after his death and his funeral could not been arranged until now, after the approval of a coroner.

    >Conneely Funeral Directors added the man was well known in the area and they are sure neighbours and friends will be attending the funeral.

    >“He was well liked where he lived, there’s a lot of neighbours who have been concerned in the past few weeks, ringing us regularly to see if there is any update.”

    >However, an appeal has been launched this morning, April 25, on Galway Bay FM to ask people to attend the funeral, and make sure Mr Laffey is not laid to rest alone.”

Pasted the article because the headline sounds like complete strangers are being implored to attend. Which is not the case.

  3. It was just Matt left in the house after his mother and sister died a few years ago, they used to go everywhere together.
He was just a kind man who all us locals will miss dearly. May he R.I.P
