Russia regains control of Kursk border region from Ukraine, Putin says

1. No idea what they sought to accomplish in Kursk.

   If the goal was to slow down the Russian in Donbass,then they failed miserably as Russian territorial gains in Ukraine accelerated after this stunt.

   While Russian did divert some units from the Donbass,Ukraine also had to do the same.Since,Russian has more military assets than Ukraine to begin with,the result was that Ukraine was relatively weakened in the Donbass after this Kursk operation began.

   Ukraine never had much chance of taking the city of Kursk itself.
