1. Half a century later and cats are still knocking stuff over, Harp is still bleeugh and Europe’s number one nightclub is in (checks notes) Baggot Street…

3. Hiding drink in the clock? , did they used to advertise the problems drinkers on the TV 😂 

4. There are a lot more videos on this YouTube channel with Utv and BBC NI from 70’s and 80’s. It’s a Time Capsule of life here at that time.

5. An advert for a nightclub, in Dublin no less. Can anyone account for when that fell out of fashion, or did it just become illegal to do so, like ads for cigarettes?

   I guess it’s not a huge leap from that to the ‘FIFTY! FIFTY! FIFTY!’ chatlines, or the more grumble aimed services.

6. Wee bit of homophobia in the Harp advert when his mate finds your woman’s handbag. But he gets the girl in the end
