Also the new 4th generation Nest Thermostat will never be available in Europe.

Well that makes it easy to switch over to another brand for an upgrade to individual room heating.
What is the best option in Belgium for thermostats nowadays? I don’t want it to do much, I just need to be able to turn heating on and off when I’m not home and preferably be open and not fenced off by paid subscriptions or cloud services that can be arbitrarily turned off when the company doesn’t feel like supporting it anymore.
