  1. Hi all! Before my Oma died (in 1993), she recorded her life story on a series of cassette tapes. I’m in the process of trying to transcribe all of the recordings and I’m struggling to figure out the location she mentions in the audio clip attached.

    For context, she’s talking about a resort that her sister worked at. She describes the resort as being very high-end, having lots of spas, and being in a location where there’s snow year-‘round. Her sister would have started working there in the mid-1930s and, as of the 1990s, her sister’s son was also working there.

    The name of the location may have changed, and it might not be in Germany, since so many names and borders changed after the war. If anyone has any idea what she might be saying and where this might be, it would be so deeply appreciated.

  5. She worked in a city with the surname “Bad”. That brings it down to a couple of hundred.

    Cites in Germany that have done something outrageous or downright unimaginably horrific stuff gained the name “Bad” so everyone knows to be aware of them.
