LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A multi-state roofing company closed Saturday amid claims of poor business practices.
Lexington Blue provided roofing installation and insurance restoration services in Kentucky and southern Ohio for more than 10 years. The company announced Saturday it has closed due to more than two years of persistent financial strain.
“Lexington Blue faced extraordinary and unforeseen challenges, including unrelenting internal disruptions and attempts to sabotage our operations, including, but no limited to negative press and reviews,” Lexington Blue posted on Facebook. “Despite these hardships, we remained steadfast in our commitment to our customers. To continue serving you, we made significant sacrifices — including selling nearly all company and personal assets to sustain operations — and fought to honor every obligation placed in our care.”
Lexington Blue said it defaulted on all credit lines and loans. The company said it formally transferred its backlog of outstanding projects and warranties to Skyline GC LLC, a local roofing company.
“If you have a pending project or warranty, you can expect direct communication from Skyline GC within the next 30 days,” Lexington Blue posted.
A former office manager for Lexington Blue Roofing spoke out earlier this month, claiming the company left dozens of customers in the Louisville area waiting for roofing work that was never completed and misled them along the way.
WDRB first reported on Lexington Blue Roofing in March, after a homeowner said she signed a contract and handed over an insurance check for roof repairs that were never done. Months later, the work still hadn’t started.
The first time WDRB visited the company’s Louisville office, no one answered. The second time, the front door went unanswered once again—and the office appeared to have been cleaned out.
The Better Business Bureau in Lexington received dozens of complaints about the company. Its BBB accreditation was suspended.
