Just another reminder that we need to invest more in mental health support, especially in schools. This isn’t normal teenage rebellion, it’s a cry for help, tragically expressed in the worst way possible.
While this is indeed a tragedy, it’s important to look at larger societal issues at play, like mental health support in schools. Pouring resources into prevention is the key, not just punishment afterwards.
We need to decide – do we want to turn this girl into a functioning, contributing adult?
Or do we want to destroy her and pay her benefits for the next 60 years?
Scary to think what kid are capable of in this day and age. Our focus must be on educated and mental health, intervening properly before these things happen. Justice seems served in this case, but let’s also make sure rehabilitation happens. Any life derailed is a loss to society as well.
Seems crazy given the pathetic 2 years, half on licence, that the psycho womanising pipe wrench weilding head teacher got (who probably has a nice pension by now). The premeditated clouting of someone around the back of the head with a wrench is attempted murderbin my eyes.
