1. Hopefully we can start the cut the Brexit red tape and trade can resume unimpeded.

2. I can only imagine how purple faced and angry our Brexit voting colleagues will get, reading how we’re going to try and – god forbid – work with foreigners to make everyone’s life better.

   Counting the seconds until one of them declares this somehow magically destroys our national identity, culture and sovereignty in 3 .. 2 .. 1 ..

3. Thank you, Mr Trump, for being the catalyst to getting us trading with the EU again!

   (Also, I suspect that Trump’s plan in making this huge mess was to have people crawl back to him, begging for a new deal, and him ending up with better deals than he had before this debacle. I hope our governments have the sense to ensure that that doesn’t happen: the US must end up in a worse position, or they’ll do it again.)

5. LOL at the EU which has massive tariffs. e.g. the huge tariffs they put on processed coffee to prevent growers moving up the value chain.

   After China, the EU is the worst for stuff like that.

6. Trump seems to be doing well at uniting other countries.

7. The eu won’t do free and open trade. They would mean giving access to their customs union etc without people being members and/or bending over backwards, and giving them fish.

15. All my life I’ve leaned towards being a Conservative, this changed when the pig shagger got the top job and things started to unravel in line with his ‘wanna be the big man’ indulgences.
    Things got worse after that with the Conservative party becoming unrecognisable and pulled ever more to the right.
    I voted Labour in the last election as an alternative to not voting and I’m very impressed, there’s no one else in UK politics that could do better on the world stage that our current PM and, hopefully, these deals will give the UK a chance to make up the lost years.

20. I’d love it, Brexit is the dumbest thing that has happened to the UK in about 200 years. Going to call this a negotiating tactic with the US for favourable terms, though rather than set in stone. They made a point of having it leaked, so they want it discussed over the next 30 days.

21. I’m forever seeing news articles in the last year of how many unemployed 18-24 year olds there are. A youth mobility scheme will do what exactly? Increase competition for work even further? And how is that meant to help?

If we can get this while keeping more wiggle room outside the single market to work with countries like Canada/Japan/Australia etc on terms agreed without the EU this will be a genuine great boon. I’m so tired of everything just being bad news. Let us treat our closest allies like the friends they are instead of trying to appease an angry old man with a god complex on the other side of the Atlantic.
