TEACH BILLIONAIRES ABOUT HOW TARIFFS WORK FIRST
Hey, I actually agree with that idea.
Can we start with the current administration and work our way down?
Rich people waste more money compared to anybody else.
Even whether you’re the US Secretary of the Treasury.
Please start with educating President Trump, good lord.
If everyone became financially literate, Donald Trump’s grifts would be in big trouble.
Mr. Side Deals…
Hey…. I heard this was going to be fun?
Sounds like a new phase in the propaganda machine.
Am I the only one bothered by how his sleeves are riding up his arms?
This is laying the groundwork for “if the economy crashing is hurting you, it’s your own fault”
Starting with trump would be great place.
I think layoffs and empty store shelves will inform people.
Sure sounds like a nation-wide, publicly funded education initiative.
If only there was a federal agency to handle things like that – maybe we could call it the Department of Understanding the Metrics of Business.
If most of the 77 million Trump voters were financially literate before the election, then Trump wouldn’t have won. GOP relies on uneducated and non-critically thinking voters.
Sounds good! Maybe start at the top!
He should start with Trump, Navarro, Lutnick, himself and all the MAGA boneheads! This is the most stupid administration I’ve ever seen. You have manufactured an economic crisis that has the potential to wipe out 80 years of worldwide American economic supremacy in less than a month! What do you call that? I call it stupid, corrupt and reckless.
In other words, what was internally known a long time ago within the government is now announced because they have no choice.
Worst case scenario of when the dollar crashes, financial literacy will prevent anarchy.
Yeah, I agree. We should help people understand that the function of the economy under capitalism is to enrich a tiny minority of aristocrats while the working class that toils every day to make those aristocrats exorbitantly wealthy are becoming poorer and poorer. We should help people understand that economic literacy means understanding that we have to make the economy function exclusively for the working class — so that the majority live well. We don’t need a tiny group of people living like pharaohs at our expense.
If everyone became financially literate, a republican would never sit in the White House again.
99% of people that try to win in the economy end up losing .
If everyone wins, that’s [whatever political term you want] 🤣🤣💯🐱
From a regime that will turn that country to stoneage, that is a really rich thought…
Great idea. Here’s a lesson; tariffs don’t work for developed economies.
I’m not sure that is in the best interest of the MAGA leadership is it?
Yeah start with his boss, yeah?
It all depends upon how you define “financially literate”. If he means by that accepting whatever Trump says about the economy as gospel, then no.
Start with that orange cunt.
Look in the mirror, Scott.
Yes. Great idea. This is 50 years overdue.
This is one thing I can agree on.
But it’s funny because this will work against MAGA so much, if everyone became financially literate. No one would vote for their policies if they actually understood them.
Eliminate the Department of Education and then embark on a national literacy program.
The genius of Trump’s Moron Corps never ceases to amaze.
i suspect bessent’s idea of ‘financial literacy’ will involve indoctrination that a) is not reality-based and b) directly serves the interests of the billionaire class. ‘did you know having more credit cards is good for your credit score?’ ‘you’re having trouble living on $15/hour? have you tried making a household budget?!’
one thing i know is if we’re gonna survive this dark chapter in our history, americans are gonna need to become politically literate, stat.
But most of us aren’t even literate literate
Wouldn’t that fuck their whole ruin the economy because no one will notice thing?
This is not just reasonable but overdue.
It’s what we need a good educational system for… Oops.
This is the very thing I’ve agreed with from anyone in the Trump administration.
Couldn’t agree more. So let’s start with explaining to people exactly what a tariff is and who ultimately pays for it!
Good idea, unless they manipulate how it should be understood.
As someone on the far-left, absolutely fucking yes. Agreed.
Can definitely agree with him on that. He can start with Congress which keeps piling on debt by cutting taxes while constantly saying they will reduce spending.
Without a hint of irony?
This is a bad sign. They are preparing us to accept a lower standard of living.
I used to be Mormon and the Mormon church did the same thing. They run the church like a business and have $200 billion worth of investments but are loathe to use it to help members who are financially struggling. To prevent what the businessmen running the church see as “handouts” they push a financial literacy program where they try to get members to budget and be “self-sufficient” so they don’t have to spend money on welfare programs.
The new billionaire aristocracy is going to try to get rid of any social support for Americans and this is likely part of the plan to get Americans to accept their new peasantry standards of living.
America messed up in 1902 when the General Education Board, set up by John D. Rockefeller, took control of public education. It wasn’t to create thinkers, they wanted a workforce that would follow orders and keep the industrial machine running. They built a system that discouraged critical thought, rewarded blind trust in authority, and left people reacting instead of thinking. Most of the people who could have changed anything have already been bought off by the same families that designed the system. Now the ones who benefited the most pretend that the system is “broken” by accident. It’s not. It’s working exactly as intended. Blaming everyday people for financial illiteracy is a joke when corporations dodge taxes, exploit bailouts, manipulate markets, and commit fraud for bonuses. All while the average person is stuck working three jobs to pay off a useless degree.
You want to fix the system? Start at the top.
A trump government official recommending literacy about anything? Lol. I mean, he’s right but start by educating the guy in the white house.
This feels like a warning.
Step 1: it is irresponsible to spend more than 30% of pretax income on rent
So…good luck with that
SWEET! Let’s start with “Insider Trading,” taught by members of the tRUmp “administration.” Then we can move on to “Extortion 101: Tariffs and Crypto Bribes,” taught by the Mob Boss in Chief. Also, “Coping with Unemployment and Inflation: Why the Poors Don’t Merit a Safety Net”
And finally, “I’ll Give You Something to Cry About,” by kidnapper/extraordinary renditioner, Tom Homan.
Ha! If you could snap your fingers and make everyone financially literate tonight, there’d be a revolution by tomorrow morning.
I hate that he said something I agree with.
MAGA are too stupid to understand what is involved. Their financial literacy ends at Drill Baby Drill.
