Last year it’d be a misfortune
This year it’s hilarious
Heckuva job, Pete!
Your hair and makeup I mean. You are a shitshow as Secretary of Defense.
Don’t worry doge saved enough money to make a new one.
How is something like this able to happen? Lol
So it says the jet and the tow vehicle slipped off when the carrier was making drastic evasive actions against incoming Houthi fire. What weaponry does the Houthis even possess that can remotely threaten an American carrier group?
How could they lose it, the water is so clear you can see the damn bottom!
Put it in some rice.
It’s OK, they cancelled popsicles for kids undergoing chemotherapy so it should all balance out
I’m sure diversity, equality, or inclusion forgot to set the brake.
Shit happens man, no big deal.
Word is this plane and tractor fell off the carrier during evasive maneuvers to avoid an incoming Houthi inbound.
Carriers are actually quite fast and maneuverable given their massive size, so if this was the case, not hard to imagine.
Plane can be replaced, sailors lives cannot. 👍🏽
>A US official said that initial reports from the scene indicated that the Truman made a hard turn to evade Houthi fire, which contributed to the fighter jet falling overboard.
>“The F/A-18E was actively under tow in the hangar bay when the move crew lost control of the aircraft. The aircraft and tow tractor were lost overboard,”
Yes, likely there was also human error involved, but the situation does appear to be a bit more complicated overall.
I get all your Elon and Doge jokes, but come on people, is no one actually interested in the article?
Fun fact: there are more planes in the sea, than there are ships in the sky.
Whoops 😬
Oopsie.
Butterfingers.
They lost the plane while it was being towed when the ship did a hard turn to, according to the article, avoid fire.
This is what it looks like in testing:

Yeah, I can see stuff falling off when you do that. Must have been real exciting for everyone aboard when you unexpectedly need to do one of those for reals.
lucky they had progressive insurance, flo set them up w/ a bundle LOL
It appears from reports that this is simply the cost of doing war rather than a failure of the crew.
The plane was under tow when the carrier made an evasive turn due to Houthi attack. It wasn’t secured while it was under tow. The other Nimitz class ship can be seen rolling up to 13 degrees in each direction on an evasive turns during sea tests. (At 15 degrees a slope is considered challenging for an average person to walk up)
It will be interested if sailors are awarded Combat Action Ribbons due to this attack and if the injured soldier will receive a Purple Heart.
Welp. That mishap is the annual income of 1000 American families
Someone bring out Yoda
Chief probably running around yelling “I said Secure for Sea”
Can’t park there bro.
Get a super big chain and an army of undead soldiers to drag it out ala Game of Thrones
“initial reports from the scene indicated that the Truman made a hard turn to evade Houthi fire, which contributed to the fighter jet falling overboard.
The Houthi rebel group claimed on Monday to have launched a drone and missile attack on the aircraft carrier, which is in the Red Sea as part of the US military’s major anti-Houthi operation.”
Was JD Vance visiting the carrier?
Engage parking breake or leave it gear
I feel bad for the pilot assigned to that aircraft.
(I am making an assumption that each pilot always flies the same aircraft)
Ere’ body on that boat gon git fired
Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there.
Ha, A drop in the ocean!
Dam DEI
im imagining Luke’s Xwing in Dagobah
Why does the US keep subsidising the ocean. 100% tariffs starting on the 1st of may
That fighter jet was just 3 days away from retirement.
The front fell off.
Wow that’s like six months of golf outings for the president.
Didn’t put on the parking brake, rookie mistake.
> [The Truman] made headlines in February when it collided with a merchant ship near Egypt; no injuries were reported. Another F/A-18 from the Truman was also “mistakenly fired” upon and shot down by the USS Gettysburg in the Red Sea in December ; both pilots ejected safely.
Sounds like there’s some major issue if we’ve had three accidents like this in 6 months.
going to need a DOGE report
Biden’s fault for sure. Just ask trump.
But did the front fall off?
“A US official said that initial reports from the scene indicated that the Truman made a hard turn to evade Houthi fire, which contributed to the fighter jet falling overboard.”
Bullshit title that people are obviously gonna fall hook, line, and sinker for because they don’t bother clicking the article.
Close your eyes and kick a door jam as hard as you can with a bare foot. Now, do it every day for the next 6 mos. This is the VR version of being in that chain of command.
tariff the red sea 100% each week until it gives it back our plane
