  7. The Gospel represented in the Crucifixion

At the crucifixion, we see Jesus hanging between two thieves. The two thieves represent all of humanity: sinners who stand before a Savior, each faced with a choice. One mocked and rejected Christ. The other recognized Him as Lord and, in that moment of faith, was promised, “Today you will be with Me in Paradise.”

This powerful image reminds us that we, too, are given the freedom to choose. We can either accept the gift of salvation offered through Jesus’ sacrifice—or we can reject it. But make no mistake: the choice carries eternal weight.

Romans 6:23 tells us, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
If we accept Christ, we are saved, sealed, and assured a place with Him in eternity. If we turn away, we face the just penalty for sin.

So when you reflect on the two thieves at Calvary, remember: you are not just a spectator—you are one of them. The question Jesus asked His disciples still echoes through time:

“But whom say ye that I am?” — Matthew 16:15 (KJV)

Now who do you say he is?
    Your answer is everything.
