‘Back to the Future’ Screenwriter Bob Gale Says There Will ‘Never’ Be Another Sequel, ‘Prequel’ or ‘Spinoff’: ‘It’s Just Fine the Way It Is’

13. Honestly, the way Universal has been propping up the property in the parks lately, you can tell they’re just waiting for the Bobs to be gone so they can start pumping out sequels and spin-offs.

15. If there were ever going to be a prequel or additional sequel, the time for it is long past. It wouldn’t have the magic without the same cast.

    I wouldn’t be opposed to a spiritual successor that pays homage to the trilogy but tells it’s own story though.

19. I mean, I liked the Telltale videogame

20. It’s already had spinoff material like the musical and video games. I can see new supplementary material and adaptations coming out (maybe a graphic novel adaptation or semi-canon novel sequel), but we’re never getting a sequel. And hopefully it never gets remade.

22. Personally, the only new BTTF movie I’d actually want to see is a movie adaptation of the musical.

33. There actually was a Back to the Future 4, but it sucked so bad they went back and stopped it from happening.
