  1. Germans love being pedantic, or *Korinthenscheißer*, my German still gets corrected to this day (30+) even though I have been learning it since I was a child (my mother tongue being Italian).

  2. I remember going into an interchange to Hamburg years ago back when I got my B2 degree in German and some people told me jokingly my accent was “very Mediterranean”. This further proves that Les Balears are a fully incorporated colony.

  3. Or maybe they just went to an area where ppl a rude in general. Berlin, Pott, Austria etc.

  4. I wouldnt say its bc your arent native, its more bc you start to understand us. Complaining and correcting is like beer, it runs in our veines

  5. Well, there are capital letters in that post. Germans love their capital letters.

  6. I think the main issue is that we will correct them constantly when they make mistakes and a lot of people see that as mean/rude, when we just mean it as constructive criticism and our way to help you learn the language

  7. You misunderstand, Germans are also equally shitty to their own people if they make a mistake. It’s not about you being a learner, the first mistake you made is going to Germany.

  8. Weshalb schreibt er in Englisch, wenn er Deutsch lernen will?

  9. It’s called “Berliner Schnauze” and if you can’t feel the warmth and heartfelt appreciation i try to give you by shouting at you, you don’t deserve it.

  10. Germans even correct other germans german. Ever read “der dativ ist dem genitiv sein tod”? Its a whole ass book about mistakes everybody makes

  11. It depends on the culture some are very quick in correcting mistakes and others are very racist

  12. Nah, the germans are completely harmless, besides good luck learning the German without having your grammar corrected.

  13. Why? They don’t yell at you repeating the same thing like you were deaf? That’s how we do it.

    -“¿Has acabao con eso?

    -“Lo siento, no la entiendo”.

-“JELOU, ME LLAMO PACO, QUE SI HAS TERMINADO CON ESO, FIN, DI END”.

  14. 1. Germans love to correct people, regardless of ancestry

    2. Many Germans believe that if you don’t understand them the first time, the best thing to do is to repeat themselves verbatim, just louder.

  15. The terror in the eyes of the granny that worked in a bakery in a small village outside Munich, when my gf asked in german which bread didn’t contain milk or butter. “Everything has milk” she answered… lol

  16. At least the Germans just switch to English when you can’t speak German, the French just straight up don’t want to talk to you if you can’t pronounce every sound perfectly

  17. Ich spreche im Allgemeinen nicht so schlecht Deutsch, aber wenn ich es schreibe, merkt man, dass meine Grammatikkenntnisse (<3) hinterherhinken.
