Kate Middleton and Prince William are spending their 14th wedding anniversary in Scotland, the country where they first met and fell in love.
The Duke and Duchess of Rothesay, as the couple is called in Scotland, arrived in the town of Tobermory on the Isle of Mull on April 29, where well-wishers lined the street hoping to catch a glimpse of the pair. The Isle of Mull is the fourth largest island in Scotland and home to around 3,000 people as well as tourism, farming and fishing industries.
Prince William, 42, and Princess Kate, 43, sported coordinated looks: blue button-down shirts topped with blazers.
The couple is visiting a community hub and an artisan market to meet some of the island’s creators. Inside, Kate used a nail gun to help construct a sign for a Community Pantry.
They also checked out a soft play area for children and met with some local families.

Later in the day, William and Kate will visit a local croft to learn about sustainable farming and hospitality on the island.
Their trip to Scotland will continue on April 30 when they head to an ancient woodland to meet the Mull and Iona Ranger Service, which plays a vital role in conservation, biodiversity protection and education on the islands. They joined a local school group as they take part in some outdoor learning.
Before arriving, the couple’s social media pages posted a video highlighting their visit. They wrote, “Welcome to the Inner Hebrides…From exploring how islanders are protecting their natural world, to meeting young families who are shaping the future of rural life, we’re excited for an inspiring two days here celebrating the power of community and connection.”
The video featured Banjo Beale, an Australian interior designer known for winning the BBC1 series Interior Design Masters, who lives on the Isle of Mull.

Scotland is a special place for Prince William and Princess Kate as it’s where they first met as students at the University of St. Andrews. They became friends before things turned romantic, which William called a “good sort of foundation” during their engagement interview in 2010.
The future Prince and Princess of Wales tied the knot on April 29, 2011, at Westminster Abbey in London, and they went on to have three children: Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 7.

Prince William and Princess Kate’s trip to Scotland marks their first joint outing in several weeks as they took time away from royal work during their kids’ school break leading up to Easter. They opted to skip the royal family’s church gathering on the holiday at Windsor Castle, spending Easter in Norfolk with Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton.
Over the weekend, Prince William traveled to Italy, where he attended the funeral of Pope Francis on behalf of his father, King Charles.
