Houston-based Axiom Space to set record conducting the most research activities benefiting life on earth, beyond

  • 29.04.2025

HOUSTON – Axiom Space is embarking on a groundbreaking mission on a global scale to enhance life on Earth from above the stars.

The aerospace company, whose headquarters are based in Houston, announced that its upcoming mission, Axiom Mission 4 (Ax-4), will fly to the International Space Station on May 29, 2025.

During this time, 60 scientific studies will be conducted by members from over 30 countries — thereby fostering international collaboration while advancing research through diverse minds.

“This will be the most research and science-related activities conducted on an Axiom Space mission aboard the International Space Station to date, underscoring the mission’s global significance and collaborative nature to advance microgravity research in low-Earth orbit (LEO),” Axiom explained on its website. “The studies will contribute to the global knowledge base in human research, Earth observation, and life, biological, and material sciences, showcasing the space research capabilities of the crew’s home nations.”

To capitalize on this research, Axiom Space said it is teaming up with various research organizations and academic institutions as well to examine the effects of spaceflight on the human body and how space-based research may improve health and medical treatments on Earth.

“Ax-4 emphasizes the importance of commercial and academic partnerships, as Axiom Space leads the creation of a global research community and sustainable economic ecosystem in LEO,” Axiom added. “This mission also lays the groundwork for Axiom Station, the first commercial space station, which will offer a permanent platform for research, manufacturing, and human spaceflight.

The Ax-4 mission will embark on its journey on May 29, 2025 at 1:03 p.m. EST in Florida, launched by a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.
