Can anyone help, what above means like what all I need to change , I’m non German speaker I understand I need something with bonnet change but also brake need to be changed ?
You have to change the active dampers/actuators for the bonnet. Brakes are okay.
hood struts past expiration date. Bring the protocol to a workshop, they’ll know what to replace
Yeah your hood dampers are done, you probably could fix it yourself…
Beside the dampers as others said, it also point out that you should keep an eye on the state of your tires.
Your car has active dampers which deploy on crash to protect pedestrians. Those dampers have an expirydate. I think it’s something around 5 years? It should be printed on the dampers themself.
You need to fix the identified defects listed at “(6) Festgestellte Mängel” -> hood dampers -> this needs to be fixed.
As far as I understand this:
The hood has two gas pressure dampers left/right. These dampers have an expiry date that has passed.
Change the gas dampers (parts should be 30…70 EUR plus work).
Then return to TÜV or any other HU service and let them re-check the identified defects (this will cost 30…40 EUR). With new dampers, the defect is fixed and your car will get the TÜV-Plakette (for date of HU in April).
If you have the dampers changed in a workshop: they often also have TÜV in the workshop so that you don’t have to drive around – ask for “Nachuntersuchung”.
The breaking measurement table is informational (BBA of 51% is hardly over the minimum (50%) but ok für TÜV).
At (10) Hinweise they added info for you to check tires (perhaps old tires or low profile, but at the moment still ok – perhaps get some new ones at some point)
For non technicans, why are hood dampers relevant to pass TÜV?!
If Hood is closed safely, nobody should care. But I think im wrong with this opinion 😀 My last car passed TÜV with absolut non working hood dampers two times (cars now gone).
To add one information, the TÜV also mentioned your vehicle came loaded to the inspection ” (10) Das Fahrzeug ist beladen zur Prüfung vorgestellt worden”. Its not the best condition to send it to TÜV
Ich wusste gar nicht, dass es Motorhaubendämpfer gibt, geschweige denn, dass das Verschleißteile sind. So viel zu “Im Zweifel probier ich das Auto selbst zu reparieren”.
Btw, most repair shops work directly with inspectors, and can directly issue a new badge. If you have a repair shop that you trust, just bring your car there and tell them that you need a new TÜV. They will check your car, then tell you what needs to be done, and then you can pick up your car with a new TÜV badge.
That’s what you get for driving a BMW 🙂
The only manufacturer with best before dates on the hood dampeners
Replace them, go there again and you get your sticker
What is this signature?
The hooddampers of the pedestrian protection system are expired go to a shop show them the Prüfbericht and have them fix it and either get tüv in-house with the shop or go back to the place you were before th have it recheck. At a recjeck they only check for the stuff they found before so it’s much cheaper.
Thats sure BMW. Next time i recommend to cover up the name of the person. ,,Datenschutz”
I literally failed the TÜV with the exact same issue 2 weeks ago.
You can order the dampers from BMW (should be around 130€ for both of them) and install them in about 2 minutes yourself, I used this video to guide me: https://youtu.be/aTK4VDKPsGY?si=qPme9poONk3ej9TS
Oh that’s a weirdass fail. Very specific and unfortunately something we’ have to deal with more in the upcoming future.
Your pedestrian-safety system has reached its age-limit.
Go to the manufacturer and see what a replacement or repair is gonna cost you.
Frankly, this is a bit ridiculous. Nobody is concerned about the age of airbags, these are essentially airbags.
Either way, usually this just means that the explosive is above its age-limit, replacing that shouldn’t be too expensive. Usually.
