Tampere and VörÄ are sending a sauna to Basel to show their support for the Finnish artists competing in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025.
Erika Vikman and KAJ will be getting support from their home cities as they compete in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. Tampere and VörÄ are sponsoring a Finnish lounge in Basel which is set to feature a sauna from Finland.
Sending a sauna to Basel has the support of a former Eurovision participant. Hanna Pakarinen, who represented Finland at Eurovision 2007, is supporting the plan as part of The Finnish Sauna Society. Saara Saarteinen from the City of Tampere commented:
âTampere has been the home city of the Finnish selection for Eurovision, UMK, for a couple of years now. As soon as Erika Vikman won, we began planning ways to support her in Basel, because we definitely wanted to show our full support as a city in helping Ich komme win the contest. Since Tampere is the sauna capital of the world, the idea of a sauna was part of the plan from the beginning. The Finnish Sauna Society, led by former Eurovision contestant Hanna Pakarinen, is bringing the sauna to Baselâ
The support for Erika Vikman and KAJ comes as the two Finnish acts are among the favourites to take victory in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. Erika Vikman will perform âIch kommeâ for Finland, while Kaj are representing Sweden with âBara bada bastuâ.
The event in Basel is supported by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, the Finnish embassies in Germany and Switzerland, the Finnish Institute in Berlin, and Visit Finland.
