  1. Alternate title: Trump orders gifts for people who like to roleplay as military in a cynical effort to preserve their support.

  2. Military assets to suppress civilians? Literally a police state.

  3. If the military wants to prevent crime, it could simply arrest Trump.

  4. A little Posse Comitatus being added to the stew. Wonderful.

  5. Have they asked law enforcement jurisdictions if they want this? Have they asked the military? Is there any planning or consideration?

  6. Regardless of legality this is a military deployment.

This shit costs money. Tons of money. More money than the “we’ll have so much money from tariffs we won’t know what to do with it” money.

  7. But Obama…. /s Projection all the way down

Anyone remember the FEMA camps? And here you have Trump kidnapping citizens to foreign gulags.

  8. Military weapons are designed to kill people quickly, not fight crime. Trump is more interested in killing people than preventing crime. But this is expected. Fascism is, at its core, about gratification of sadistic impulses (ever notice the the prevalence of Nazi themes in S&M costumes?), so Trump’s gift of rapid killing machines to law enforcement should come as no surprise.

For right wing extremists, cruelty is always the point.

  9. Just save your time and send them to merde a lardo and 1600 Pennsylvania.

  10. The Posse Comitatus Act **bars** federal troops from participating in civilian law enforcement.

“Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances **expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress,** willfully uses any part of the Army or the Air Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws **shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.”**

Step by step. Inch by inch.

  11. He might as well burn the Constitution. Congress isn’t going to do one damn fucking thing about it.

  12. THIS is what Washington state was anticipating, with their recent HB 1311:

    >Governor Bob Ferguson signed into law a bill that restricts out-of-state military forces from entering Washington. House Bill 1321…

    [https://governor.wa.gov/news/2025/governor-bob-ferguson-signs-bill-restricting-armed-forces-entering-washington](https://governor.wa.gov/news/2025/governor-bob-ferguson-signs-bill-restricting-armed-forces-entering-washington)

    The hour is near, folks.

    This is the EO: [https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/04/strengthening-and-unleashing-americas-law-enforcement-to-pursue-criminals-and-protect-innocent-citizens/](https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/04/strengthening-and-unleashing-americas-law-enforcement-to-pursue-criminals-and-protect-innocent-citizens/)

    1. Nixes DEI — always central to every EO Trump signs. This one is no exception.

    >”work to ensure that law enforcement officers across America focus on ending crime, not pursuing harmful, illegal race- and sex-based “equity” policies.

    2. Trump sued all those law firms so he could force them to defend cops for free, and ‘indemnify’ them regardless of their actions:

    >”The Attorney General shall …create a mechanism to provide … indemnification to law enforcement officers who unjustly incur expenses and liabilities for actions taken during the performance of their official duties to enforce the law.  This mechanism shall include the use of **private-sector pro bono assistance** for such law enforcement officers.

    3. Effectively pardon cops / jurisdictions FROM any existing settlements, orders

    >”Within 60 days of the date of this order, the Attorney General shall review all ongoing Federal consent decrees, out-of-court agreements, and post-judgment orders … and **modify, rescind, or move to conclude such measures that unduly impede the performance of law enforcement functions**.

    4. Continue to rob the Treasury…

    >”maximize the use of Federal resources to..increase pay and benefits for law enforcement officers” …

REALLY? WONDER WHICH US STATES WILL GET FEDERAL TAXPAYER MONEY???

    5. Turn US wartime munitions on U.S. States and cities:

    >”increase the provision of excess military and national security assets in local jurisdictions to assist State and local law enforcement.”

    6. Make DEI illegal

    >”pursue all necessary legal remedies and enforcement measures to [hold state and local officials accountable who] unlawfully engage in discrimination or civil-rights violations under the guise of “diversity, equity, and inclusion” initiatives that restrict law enforcement activity or endanger citizens.

    etc

    We are officially under assault.

  13. Because people don’t hate the police enough…

  14. Sounds like the 1765 and 1774 Quartering acts placing British soldiers in American settler’s homes.

  15. We’ll see how many military folks refuse. Bet it’ll be close to zero despite what people will claim.

  16. “There’s a reason you separate military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people.”

    — Commander William Adama of BSG Season 1 (2003-2009)

  17. I’ll go download Signal to see if I get looped in on the plans.

  18. At this pace, the US will be a police state by Labor Day.

  19. If you are active duty military and follow these unconstitutional orders, you are a domestic terrorist and will be dealt with accordingly 😁

  20. Admiral Adama warned us about this 20 years ago:

“There’s a reason that there are separate Police and Military. One fights enemies of the state and one protects and serves the people. When the military becomes both, the enemies of the state tends to become the people.”

  21. “There’s a reason you separate military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people.”

    Commander Adama.

  22. It’s happening everyone. Fascism is in America.
What will be done about it?

  23. The intent is to stop community engagement in protests.not “ crime”

Recent polls showed that the discontent is real and growing against current administration
And this has to he stopped

Its the crime of Dissenting !

  24. I remember during the Obama years when the tea party asshats screamed non stop to high hell that Obama was going to send the military after citizens any day now. Now they just shrug and tell us Trump is some patriot genius playing 4D chess we peons can’t fathom. It’s fucking baffling

  25. Crime was decreasing under President Biden, is donnie expecting it to increase?

  26. This is clearly them trying to get around the Constitution forbidding federal troops from being used on civilians by literally just militarizing the police.

  27. Any governor can call up the national guard for this if they want. Democracy is officially over if the felon puts active duty troops on American soil and Congress doesn’t impeach him. Particularly if he puts them in states that don’t want them.

  28. This should terrify *everyone*. It basically gives police and federal agents a ton of new powers — and removes a lot of the limits that normally protect people from abuse. It shields police from being held accountable if they hurt or kill someone while “doing their job,” and gives them free legal defense through the government. It also allows the military to hand over weapons, gear, and personnel to local police departments, so they’re essentially turning regular police into militarized forces. Even more concerning, it orders the Justice Department to end or undo court oversight of police departments that have a history of violence or corruption. Getting rid of them means there’s almost no accountability left. On top of that, it threatens to punish local leaders who don’t cooperate with Trump’s agenda. This clown is setting the stage for martial law.

  29. The police don’t prevent crime, they respond to it.

Community programs, welfare, healthcare, good wages, education, economic opportunity, *that* prevents crime.

  30. How come this is not headline news? I don’t see much about this on major news sites.

  31. > Since returning to office, Trump has made “law and order” a central focus of his administration, criticizing cities he claims have restricted policing through equity-driven reforms.

For decades, Republicans have been using “law and order” rhetoric as thinly veiled dog whistles meant to inflame racial tensions, scapegoat minorities, immigrants and marginalized groups, and raise concerns around black and brown crime in their neighborhoods.

As of late, MAGA has been using this type of incendiary rhetoric to escalate their culture wars and appeal to conservative’s long list of grievances.

These grievances are often unfounded, paranoid and/or phobic. Republicans exploit their voter’s fears in order to distract them from the party’s failures, instead directing their attention towards all of the imminent, perceived threats to *their* rights and freedoms, *their* race and religion, *their* culture, *their* country, and their white, Christian hegemony.

This not only incites hostility towards out-groups, but also helps Republicans justify their discriminatory attitudes and oppressive policies aimed at foreigners, marginalized individuals, political opponents, Muslims, the media, American institutions, the LGBTQ community, Universities, student protestors, scientists, teachers and librarians, and the list goes on and on.

They even target diverse viewpoints and antithetical ideas and perspectives

By identifying these enemies and scapegoats, they can rally their supporters into a patriotic frenzy, uniting them against all of these common threats to their exclusive, American way of life. This is their unifying cause. They are the *true* patriots and are thus entitled to rights, freedoms, privileges and immunities that other *false,* anti-Americans are not.

“Law and order” becomes a means to an end. Authoritarian and fascistic regimes are obsessed with crime and punishment, and they conveniently get to dictate what falls under the purview of “criminal behavior.”

They begin to categorize all forms of opposition and opposing beliefs as radical, as some kind of widespread epidemic, as undermining the strongman’s limitless authority, as a threat to their way of life, as an existential danger to the nation.

From there, practically any action can be justified in the name of “saving the country.”

This even includes the use of military force to punish and crush dissent, to eliminate diametric and diverse viewpoints, and with the broader goal in mind of gaining a stranglehold on all of their enemies that seem to be lurking around every corner.

  32. Cool. I’m glad all those 2A anti government militia types are prepared to fight a tyrannical government.

    Right?

  33. Inch by inch, row by row, this is how fascism grows

  34. And still his cult members will act like this is a good idea. So now they don’t need warrants and they have military grade equipment.

Crime is actually down, so what is this shit about really?

  35. Wait.

I was assured by MAGA that Trump wasn’t going to do this.

  36. What happened to the ole “leave it to the states” line? Ooh. Right. That’s only when they wanna get rid of things they don’t like.

Something tells me that this enforcement has something to do with quelling the national protests going on. It won’t end well.

  37. Maybe he should read up on the The Posse Comitatus Act, I also want to point out the oath that every active military took.

We are getting dangerously close to civil war territory.

  38. Military folks, remember. It is your sworn duty to refuse an unlawful order.

  39. there’s literally no other way to spin this, you guys legit lost your country. that’s some fucked up shit.

  40. I’m sure this is just a coincidence:

“The House of Representatives will vote on Tuesday for a change in rules that will prevent lawmakers requesting disclosures from the Trump administration.

The shift, quietly released last night by Republican leaders, will shut down so-called “Resolutions of Inquiry” – a congressional tool for demanding factual information or documents in the possession of the president or from a cabinet secretary – through September 30th.”

  41. Nothing to see here, just the first steps of implementing martial law and fascism.
