And they say nurses have it tough
“She told MailOnline…”
And I’m out.
How the super rich travel on trains… I worry about having £50 in my bag 😂
Casually travelling with £250,000 worth of goods in a suitcase, doesn’t pay attention to it, bag gets lifted, person who stole it gets caught almost immediately and is being held in custody since February, awaiting trail, claims she doesn’t want to return to the UK because it’s so “unsafe”…
Stolen BY St Pancras? Did the station become autonomous?
Imagine having a quarter million sitting in a suitcase, and leaving it unattended even for a second lol.
If you can afford that much stuff you can afford to insure it. Just file a claim and get on with your life rather than running to the media

Putting this in the “news” is just rage bait.
I expect this was quite stressful for her, but feels like a wild overreaction. Perhaps she was getting her news from the Mail before she came over and this tipped her over the edge.
>Brittny
That annoyed me more than it should
Poor rich person. Cry me a fucking river and welcome to the real world.
Man why are you all victim blaming here Jesus. « she shouldn’t have worn such a low cut top… » vibes here.
£250k for the insurance claim lined up… Bet that tat cost a measly £185k!
State of the comments here, just the vitriol when someone doesn’t live off bread and water in a 10 person hmo on pip and minimum wage
Fun fact: I once shared a hot tub with Jenson Button and his then Mrs Jessica Michibata, in Cebu in the Philippines.
I’m in the hot tub, Jenson & his Mrs gets in, he says “are you here for the Iron man”
Me: “no”
Awkwarrrrrrd silence ensues.
Brittny.
Did the thieves also steal a vowel from her name?
The irony of course is that if they had gotten the tube, or even a normal taxi like a normal person, their suitcase probably wouldn’t have been stolen. But when you are getting a chauffeur from King’s Cross after coming back from a tip top weekend in gay old Paris, you’re making yourself a target
Its horrible to have anything stolen. But it could happen in ANY big metropolitan city next to a train station. I wouldn’t leave a £250k suitcase out of my sight outside Gare du Nord or Grand Central or Napoli Centrale either.
Sounds like Monaco or Dubai is a better fit for her.
My cousin had their suitcase stolen this week, exactly here. Organised crime for sure, the popo don’t do jack all
Not victim blaming at all as no one should rob anyone else, but in the past I’ve couriered very valuable jewellery (nowhere near 250k though) and objects by train. That shit was in a special case or bag and was glued to my hand for the entire journey.
I would imagine anywhere feels unsafe compared to Monaco.
I was by St Pancras the other day and a guy casually picked up somebody’s Louis Vuitton bag as they were putting stuff in a cab and walked off with it. He was shouted at so dropped it and jogged off into the crowds, but was no doubt back and trying the same thing minutes later. It’s easy pickings with rich people getting off Eurostar with loads of bags and not paying attention on a busy street.
I get that having stuff stolen is a horrible experience, but there’s some serious hyperbole happening here. The perpetrator was caught, items recovered, and he’s been convicted.
If anything that rather proves how well our justice system works – well, for rich people anyway. Zero effort was put into finding our burglars even though the responding officer knew him by name (we had CCTV of it happening).
EDIT: I clearly missed that her stuff actually wasn’t recovered. That must be really hard with heirloom items.
> Brittny now says she has ‘no interest’ in ever returning to the UK because of how ‘unsafe’ it is.
Win win all round then.
St Pancras Station stole her jewellery and handbags?
No one else talking about the response of the police? Funny how fast and efficient the police can be when it’s a rich and famous person 🤣 if this was anyone else they wouldn’t lift a finger.
I relish opportunities to tell the story about when Jenson Button caught me looking at his penis, but this doesn’t feel like the time.
Very odd comment section here, nearly every one having a pop at the person who was the victim of a crime, if any of you have ever been mugged/robbed you might have a bit more sympathy.
Is she mentally stable? You can’t walk the streets of London with any visible sign of wealth—even a £300 iPhone. There’s nowhere in the city where you can confidently carry anything valuable and still feel safe. And she had something in a bag… at King’s Cross of all places? That’s easily one of the top five worst spots to be so careless. Honestly, if that’s how you want to move, you’re better off leaving the country. You just can’t do that in London anymore. It’s gone downhill—an absolute state.
cringe. also who lmao
I saw a suitcase snatching a few weeks ago outside St Pancras when I was waiting for my uber. It was around 6pm, still light and lots of people around. So brazen. Can’t believe we’ve gone from phone snatching to bloody suitcase snatching.
Headline takes the sting away from the fact that it’s common for that same crime to happen outside that station and not much is being done to deter it.
But let’s go ahead and victim blame.
I don’t understand why someone would take sentimental and antique heirlooms with them for a romantic getaway.
Also, pretty amazing that they caught the culprit within days. I mean, he had time to list the things online, but was at least caught after that. I know people who have been robbed, they didn’t get anything back and the thieves weren’t caught.
Unsafe? I’ve lived in London for 30 years and never had anything nicked, never been burgled, never been pickpocketed.. maybe you don’t want to be traveling around with 250k worth of jewelery? Name me a major city in the world where you’re safe from that.
Could have easily stopped him as he casually wandered away…
Maybe don’t wander around with a quarter of a million quids worth of stuff 🤣😂
I was on the Stansted Express from Liverpool Street a couple of weeks ago and put my suitcase on the luggage rack at the end of the aisle. Luckily I was first on so I got a seat facing the rack.
Two stops after Liverpool Street I notice a woman taking my case & quickly walking up the carriage away from the door. I chased her up the aisle & politely told her she had taken the wrong case. I knew from her expression that it was deliberate.
She mumbled an apology and said ‘I thought it was my case’ she then took her case from the rack which was nothing like mine & clearly a lot lighter (mine was sooo heavy as I’m a nightmare packer!) also the fact that she didn’t stand to wait & get off at the door beside the luggage rack, instead walking briskly up the aisle towards the far end of the train tells me she knew what she was doing.
I’ve since looked online for similar experiences to see if it’s a known thing & it would appear that thieves are now buying a Stansted express ticket 1 or 2 stops with the intent of stealing travellers suitcases. Just a heads up for anyone travelling!
Jesus, even the STATIONS are demanding a piece of the action now…
I’m going to suggest that walking around with £250k’s worth of stuff is a bit silly in most city’s on the planet…
Damn, you can’t trust a railway station to keep it’s hands off your stuff.
Call be transportist but stations should be locked up.
Don’t know where she intends to go then as this happens everywhere. I’ve seen/heard of people having cases stolen at railway stations in Paris, Rome, Venice and a few others. I saw one bod try to casually walk off with a suitcase right in front of me in Lyon station, I shouted and he just let go and strolled off. I was on my own with my own suitcase so I couldn’t go for him.
So unbothered

I’m most surprised by the fact the police showed up and checked the CCTV within a few weeks. When I’ve had stuff stolen it’s basically “nothing we can do” — guess I just need to have more money.
To be fair, our society is a bit less shooty that she is used to, so there is that.
It’s not the crime that’s the issue it’s the fact someone is casually leaving a quarter of a million pounds lying around like it’s nothing.
The prefect sign that inequality is off the charts.
And guess what.. That breeds crime.
